  1. well there is that, but when opinion and outside factors have an effect on the results you have flawed data
  2. there is still a flaw y2s response is evident of that as well you cant base the entire strength of a state of results of one freestyle tournament
  3. im not trying to start an arguement just something in the announcement that caught me,
  4. fact. but how does that gauge our strength as a state you can compare those results to other states but did they send the absolute best? did we send our absolute best. you said it yourself its a guideline nothing more.
  5. yah but my parents couldnt......theres the kicker and you cant leave with the risk of losing your seat
  6. Is there increased interest in that state because of class wrestling or because the tournament size has doubled (or whatever it was)? they are one and the same the doubled size of the tournament is due to class wrestling thus you are stating the interest HAS increased due to classes What's the flaw in the data? I was posting AA points accrued by each state for the past 5 years, nothing more nothing less. I just happened to believe it correlates with state strength.
  7. no i interpreted it like you, my point was that they make it seem in the flyer that the IHSAA gets everything, yet they don't allow coolers so you HAVE to buy from the concession stand which is where they make money.
  8. There in lies the problem, we cant gauge states saying ones successful or not. I think what this whole argument comes down to is what the purpose of class wrestling is. To me the purpose of it is to give more kids a shot to go out and experience something, to get them a chance to say I went and wrestled at Conseco Field House. I also think that it would help give those typical SS Q and regional Q to get some college spotlight, thus maybe allowing them to be seen by a school like north central, coe, dana or any of the number of smaller yet very successful programs, thus maybe getting some of the load of the $$$ to attend a school, which will get them a degree, which will give them a career. Sure you lose the mystique of being the one class champion but you are allowing many kids to gain opportunities they may have missed out on.
  9. thats not good enough for me, just as we don't send our best to Fargo all the time means that other states don't send there best, its not an accurate judge
  10. 1st. There is a point to argue this. 2nd. what do you mean by "successful" and how does it relate to your determined ranking.
  11. the best part is they say they have to send all profit to the ihsaa, i may be wrong but dont they get their concession stand profit, and the ihsaa only gets the ticket profit? sounds fishy now that no collers are allowed, way to go m-ville , anything to make a buck

  13. I can elaborate on my postion... now to get you to understand my perspective can be very skewed ha i have not seen a lot of Indiana Wrestling sadly, which that alone makes my opinion worthless ha but im saying i feel th the overall skill has decreased. which after thinking more deeply in to it i also think back to tsirtis, angel, andre, reece, and even howe. which is kind of unfair as they are probably the best bunch in a while out come out. Indiana may not have that caliber of wrestler but they have a ton of "half angels" if you will making the depth of the state better which makes me now want to say that the "DEPTH" of Indiana is on the rise, while the "Strict Talent" may be lower than in years prior. if that doesn't make sense its not your fault, im very hard to understand at times. ALSO i did what Y2 asked and surveyed some Ohio and Michigan and even PA placers zero of them stated the class they succeeded in example Matt Clum was a 215lb State Champ. (i had to ask him what division he won D2 btw) Michal Lybarger was a 2x State Runner-up (this year i finally learned it was in D1) Derrick Hill took 3rd place (just asked him, divison3) not one of these kids stated i was a Div x Blah blah and then end it with a pouty face and say it was meaningless, all of them said it with pride and a feeling of accomplishment..
  14. if Mishawaka doesnt win it will be crown point...
  15. the ones who who will compete have, i say top 3 are CP Mish and Cathedral cathedral the lone INdy School all wresdtled at the Traicoff
  16. oh Ohio and Illinois are Lightyears ahead of us and i did mean in IN, also MD was just not that good this year at least to be a top contender, Its def a region title this year
  17. so my senior year we just got lucky? Please tell me all the work i put forth was to just " get lucky"
  18. materdei never wrestled the top contenders during the season so we cant gauge the performance
  19. Perfect by whos standards? i Think the blind draws make or break ya step up and deliver if you want to win.
  20. Michigan had a girl make it to state....
  21. Like it was mentioned in another thread even a blind squirrel finds a nut, this was my one, lonely nut
