  1. I agree 100%, but showing a video made 13 years ago, obviously isn't helping. Maybe they shoulddo same thing for refs, that I had to do when I got my first stripe in bjj. We had to get choked out. Maybe if they felt the sensation of no blood circulation, they would know better what to look for? As for it being part of the sport, I don't agree. Yes it's the toughest sport, and things get dislocated, broken, torn bodibloodied and so on, but I would say 95% of those were unintentional. The match I seen, the kid wouldn't lose that match if they wrestled 100 times, so what is the point?
  2. also, if your going to allow it, you should honor tapping out. someone s going to suffer someserious damage, because these officials don't have a clue. the kid Saturday tapped for a good 7-8 seconds, andcouldn't get his other shoulder down.
  3. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on mma moves being used in wrestling and dirty (I.e. eye poking, grabbing the opponents package)wrestling? I seen a kid choked "out" this weekend, and the ref had no clue. Luckily a coach from another team seen what was going on and went out there and signaled the trainer. Should coaches train submission defenses? Should refs be taught what to look for? Don't get me wrong, I love wrestling, and mma, but to me the are separate sports, and should start that way.
  4. he got pinned by Chris Travis of Eastern, who is in the same regional, and it's a long road making it to state in out regional, and not being a champion. But i guess anything is possible. Imho, Travis is the best hwt in our area, but i look forward to or hwt wrestle either of them. Going to be some good matches.
  5. it rarely us called like that.

  10. lol, just curious which team had developed all their own kids, since they started wrestling
  11. What's the best team in Indiana without a move in?
  12. I was told this weekend Huntington North is no longer in this. Are there other changes, and who is replacing HN?
  13. Looks like anything better than last place will be an accomplishment for our team with no seniors and only 4 juniors
  14. Not a big deal, but Bowland from Oak Hill @ hwt is a junior
  15. what does it matter what you weigh 9 months before football starts? I love the post above, we have a bunch of kids that like to"just lift" for football, and most of them lose their spot to a smaller wrestler, that wrestled all winter, and lifted all summer!
  16. totally disagree. If I have 40 chances to win, and win 20, that isn't any more impressive than winning one, and only getting one shot. Add for the best Olympian that represents whatthe olympic spirit is all about, I'd say Potorious is the greatest olympic Steele of all time. I can't imagine being born with out legs, and still believing in yourself enough to think you could even compete with the best in the world. To me, that is what the greatest Steele in the world did
  17. Ok, the bracket on broardcastsport.net said Mock won
  18. Is the bracket right? It shows Mock winning, if so, that had to be a big upset, nice win for him and North Miami
  19. I like it too, might as well since stalling is never called unless it's semi state or higher.
  20. Seen several posts about counties, conferences, teams, but which Academy got the most? I seen CIA had 32 make it, any of them do better?
  21. I can see both sides, I know of at least one match up in out regional, that is the first round match to go to ss. Hire come they can't hold team regionals the Wednesday after individual state?
  22. I assume it's the wrestling class devised on here, that breaks it down to 3 classes
  23. so if 2 of peru's ssq were out, it wouldn't make a difference? Bennidict inj def to us. I'm not sure who would have won, but I don't think we would get a pin, which is what we got for points when he injury defaulted. I would guess Peru got a pin against Kokomo at that weight. Although Kern might beat Tony, I don't know if I've seen Tony get pinned. Same with Angola. Kokomo's 152 inj defaulted against Angola, I doubt he gets pinned, that alone is at least 6+for Kokomo . the best part about this, it isn't the BCS. we have a playoff system and it's going to be fun to watch
