  2. Here are a couple of places to see some great wrestling in Indy, no particular order Franklin Grizzly Duals- Perry, Penn, L.N., Pike, don't know if they added any1 else, but is a great day of wrestling Westfield HS- 16-Team Tourney (another great one) Don't know all who is participating Cathedral HS- Warren vs Cathedral Coach Weimer
  3. Here is exactly what you are looking for. Go to intermatwrestle.com and Mark Palmer has a x-mas list of great books for all ages that had to do with wrestling. It is on the front page of the site. Coach Weimer
  4. I have been thinking about a way's to get the best team's together and I like where this proposal is heading. Here are my thought's after reading this. Looking at the IHSWCA team ranking's and looking at the competitive depth in the 3A class I would keep that class alone and call it your big school. I would combine the 2A &1A classes and call it your small school division. I feel you should take 8 in a class. If you take one Team from each Semistate, you will have 4 wild-card bid's. I feel you will need 4 wild-card bid's especially for the big school division. Looking at New Castle SS for example, you have (Perry, Ron., Cath, L.N.) that all have been consistently at the IHSAA Team State Finals for pretty much the Past Decade, On top of Many other Team's that are right there ex. (Warren, H.S.E, New Castle, Carmel). I think you will need 4 wildcard's and you still might not get all of the best team's but having 4 give's you a better shot of getting the best 8 team's. Seed it!!! If you get the Best 8 team's Seeding isn't going to be that tough to do. We have great teams and after seeding the top 4 Team's it will be a crap shoot on 5-8 cause that's they way it goes. Every educated Coach, Wrestler and Fan should know it come's down to match-ups. Upset's can Happen. If you get this thing rolling, I would love to volunteer to be on the seeding and selection committee. I am not coaching anymore and still feel I have a good gauge of who would be the best team's that need to be there. Let me know!!!!!! Coach Weimer
  5. Was reading my new issue and wanted to Congratulate Coach Tonte and his crew on this awesome accomplishment. Those "South Side Dirty Butt's" are doing great thing's!!! Ha Ha Coach Weimer
  6. Could you define "open mat time"?? Is it like an open room for anyone to come in and get some time working out, "wrestle, Bjj, and grappling, kinda like how the RTC's are done at the high school level? Do you have to pay to come on on these day's? Also what time is open mat time on Friday and Saturday? Thanks Coach Weimer

  20. First off I would like to congratulate all teams who wrestled this weekend, every wrestler and coach left everything out on the mat. Coach Williams, You are the only Head Coach to ever take 2 different wrestling teams to the team state championship final match (Avon and LN). Anyone who has ever coached this sport knows how tough it is to get the opportunity coach in a state championship final, individual or team. For you to take two different programs to the highest level is an accomplishment that may never be duplicated . The past 6 years of coaching have been to most memorable years in my coaching career because I got to do it side by side with two of my best friends, you and Coach Douglas. Coach Tonte, Congratulations on your 1st state title. You have sacrificed many things throughout your coaching career to get your program to where it is today. I remember speaking to you last week and talking about possibly having an all Marion County Final and for that to happen was a very exciting moment. You, your wrestlers, and your staff have always been first class on and off the mat and I want to congratulate Perry Meridian on your first state title. Coach Weimer
  21. I love it!!!! When you are on top, everyone wants to bring you down, ha ha!!! Why would you ever want an autograph when you can come and wrestle wrestlinggods?!?! That is far more memorable; just ask those who have done it before. Trust me the list is long and distinguished!! ha ha Wrestlinggods
  22. 6th place is respectable. Being a former champ, I need to stay up at the top with these young guns. The sport of pick-ems is ever evolving. All the new techniques and the vast amount of internet access, MAN it is tough to stay on top!!! ha ha. Coach Weimer
  23. Not getting any brownie points for that one. I just tell them that when they beat me it will be their state title!!!!! Coach Weimer
