  1. I have set up a web site on caringbridge.org under joekieffer1. I will be updating his progress as we go through his treatment. Chris Lytle came up to visit Joe yesterday which was a huge boost for Joe. We look forward to watching him fight on Sunday.
  2. I (my) entire family would like to say " Thank You " to all of you who attended and assisted on this camp. I can not explain the emotion we felt after we were told the results of the camp. The list would go on forever if I tried to to say thanks to all of you. Brandi Cash, Lance Ellis, Robert Miller, Jason Wartham and the entire University Of Indianapolis coaching staff, Chris Lynch, New Pal wrestling club, to all the clubs that stop by to offer their help. I know I have not even touched on all the list of staff members that worked to make this a success. To all the wrestlers and parents who attended we say thanks and are very much appreciative. July 15th. will be remembered as the worst day of my life. On that day we found out Joe had been fighting a disease for sometime. We were told Joe was a very sick child. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. As with all parents we were very emotionally upset to find this out. To all the hard core wrestling coaches, you would be amused to know that the first comments that came out of Joe mouth was " does this mean I can not wrestle". His mother and I just looked at each other and said, lets worry about you health first Joe. I tell you that story because that's Joe first love. Wrestling has and will continue to be our love. The sport has brought us so many great highlights, but more then anything it has brought us together with some of the most kind heart family's we could ever imagine. All the family's that came up Riley Hospital while he was in the hospital were amazing. People have reached out on facebook to give Joe words of encouragement. He has drawn strength from all of you. The last four days have been much better for Joe, he is eating better and continues to find a way to walk each night up and down the street. With all of your prayers and support and with the " will " that Joe has displayed. Leukemia picked a fight with the wrong kid. This child is a fighter and a warrior. Wrestling prepared him for this fight. Please keep Joe and all the kids in your prayers who have been dealt a challenging hand. Power of prayer has and will always be heard. I am going to start posting updates about Joe progression on a web site "caringbridge" it can be found on Riley Hospital home page. Again, Thanks for all your support. The Kieffer Family
  3. If only half of the people in this world lived life like your father and mother, this world would be 100% better place to live. Daniel, Josh my thoughts and prayers are with you. Your faith will carry you. God bless..
  4. Just wanted to say thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for our son. Please continue to keep Joe in all your prayers. Kevin and Jenny Hey thanks to everyone for all ur prayers and wishes! seems to be working as joe is doing well and his spirits are high! This is the biggest match of his life and he is 2-0 with good news from the doctor. Lets keep this good news rollin, and to do that we will continue to need all the prayers. Everything is accomplished through faith and that is what we have! Keep the faith, sincerely Justin Kieffer Thank you guys for all the support and i can not say thanks enough. Keep the prayers coming love Josh.
  5. Big Time missed opportunity for some of the great Indiana High School wrestlers. Some of weight classes were just stacked.
  6. http://athletics.uindy.edu/index.aspx?tab=wrestling&path=wrest
  7. Raley is the most underrated Indiana wrestler on this list. I can name four kids in front of him I know he has beaten in the last twelve months. The Indiana 135 wt. class this past season was top notch. The top four kids at that weight class were well over looked.
  8. Josh and Justin Kieffer walking out on Friday night with the word BROTHERHOOD on their chest and Kieffer 140 on their back. " Showing their support for there brother who got rob the week before.
  9. Awesome, we are all pulling for you guys. Good Luck
  10. "Utmost importance" I don't think so, go to a school get your education. Last time I checked teachers are being laid off everyday. Wrestling put you into position to get an education at a reduced rate. Do it for yourself. You have nothing to prove. I hate to see a bright kid go to a college for wrestling purposes only.
  11. OK, well make sense. Well its good to see a former Indiana kid come out on top. Take care, best of luck..
  12. Blake first of all congrats on your State-Title, you were always one of the toughest wrestlers I seen. Just don't seem that long ago you guys wrestling against each other in C.Y.O. Hope your parents are doing well. Best of Luck You would have some insight on this. What did it feel like wrestling in a mult-class tourney? Did you like how Indiana ran its tournament? Or do you favor Georgia multi-class?
  13. Nick Walpole, Matt Irwin this year. Alex Johns qualified for D2 Nationals last year.
  14. I like to see a wrestler ( Team) put it all together. Not just on the mat , but in the classroom. You can have all the success you want on the National or State Level. Your G.P.A. and ACT/SAT scores will still prevent you from wrestling at the next level.
  15. Congrats to Perry, you guys deserve it. Fitting to see Harz seal the deal, great kid.
  16. Roncalli brings back 12, plus some JV kids that would of been in most varsity line-ups and a middle school champ.
  17. I realize off the topic, but had to add to the conversation. Slow at work so far, so had sometime to check out some topics on the best web site in high school wrestling " IndianaMat" As we speak Josh, Justin, Joe Kieffer reached 445-63 record. Great feeling to see them up there with some of the great brother combos.
  18. Nick Bova PM 130, wrestle 103 last year, made the big jump and placed 8th this year. Nick Ader Roncalli 130 JV kid last year, was a SQ this year.
  19. Wabash College Sunday March 13th. wrestling begins at 1:00
  20. Boston, showed so much class. Like he done this before.
