  1. Is that the best wrestler for Indiana High School competition or a movie script?
  2. Teaching is the best way to learn something. I practically beg my high schoolers to help with the elementary kids... not because I need the help, but because it will help the high schoolers.
  3. Other than politics (which I know means everything), why wouldn't they have the SS at the Joyce Center?? It would be outstanding. Or at least have it a high school that has walkways behind the backboards, like many gyms do.
  4. Thanks Ontherise... saved me some time (I have club practice in a few minutes) 8)
  5. The state flat-out doesn't care about the guys that could have went to state or might have placed. They want to find the best, and their system does that. This line of thinking is why they got rid of Team Semi-State.
  6. HAHAHA... I'm not an IU Basketball fan, and yes Sampson is a shady shady dude. But it's still a good quote...
  7. "There are two things in their lives they can control - their attitude and effort." ~Kelvin Sampson Put that in your Signature and smoke it!
  8. And there's quite a few 4's in the Merrillville SS that could take down last week's champs due to one regional being very strong and another being very weak.
  9. not being afraid of good competition. I have no respect for coaches whom let wrestlers run from good competition. Shows your true colors. And screws up seeding meetings.
  10. Try having a football pep rally before regionals when the volleyball team (who has beaten Burris, Central, New Castle, and Yorktown 4 times) (those that know vball know what those vicoties mean) (and we have the number one player in the country) is about to win state without a problem. I don't want to take anything away from football, hell, I'm a football coach here. But the smaller sports always get slighted and I don't get it.
  11. That would be sad.....you would think that the Lucas Oil people wouldn't do that to the kids.......I am not a big Football guy, but come on......the IHSAA and the City of Indianapolis should step in on that one.....alot of money lost to Indy, if lets say they have the State Football Finals at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie! YESSIR!!
  12. Too bad it didn't rub off on his sons.
  13. Absolutely! Great coach, better guy.
  14. Chalfant locked his hands three times and lost 4-3 I believe.
  15. Saying that Fitzgerald is a lock cheapens the fact that you put guys like Harper and Schrewsberry as locks.
  16. Well, it can't be too many years in a row recently, because in 2005 (I think) every champ was from a different school.
  17. Thanks for getting those up quick, Joe. Somehow, you continue to outdo yourself.
  18. Situation: Let's say Casey Kenney wins on Saturday. My 119 lber. would be the Semi-state alternate. Brian Terhaar of Winchester beat my kid TWICE last weekend, both in convincing fashion. Is it fair for Brian to watch as a kid he beat twice wrestle at Semi-state if some0ne in the top 4 drops out?
  19. It would make it so #4 seeds do go. (usually)
  20. If we take the kid that loses to the champion, that's really unfair. In most cases, the champion will be the one seed. Therefore, a #4 seed will be the alternate. If the #2s win and the #4-seed gets in because he's an alternate, then a #3 seed watches as a kid he beat in the sectional goes to semi-state. I know it's rare that alternates even go to SS, but still...
