    Per Anderson Community Schools, there will only be one high school in Anderson. It will be called Anderson High School and will be located on Madison Ave. (the existing Anderson High School). Highland High School will be a 7-9th grade facility, name yet to be determined.

    The year I graduated, wrestling was the only male sport in the school with a winning record and the first time that wrestling had ever broken the .500 mark. We were still overlooked and were never allowed to have a meet in the "large gym".

    Coach Al Ihnat has been coaching in Anderson at Southside Middle School, Anderson High School, and his current position at Northside Middle School for 41 years.

    Remember that at ISWA Folkstyle State, Schoolboys wrestle on Sunday not Saturday. The middle school wrestlers would weigh-in at their regional site on the Thursday prior to the tournament and then check in Saturday night up in Huntington. The only middle school wrestlers that are affected this year are the middle school wrestlers that are Cadets. Thank-you, I did not realize schoolboy was Sun. I'll pass it on to my wrestlers.

    Unfortunately Madison County middle schoolers have to decide whether to wrestle in their county meet or iswa folkstyle state this year. This will include but is certainly not limited to Carrol and Lecount. Years past the iswa meet was always the weekend following the county meet.

    Don't bet on the AD letting your elementary team in free. Last year at the school where I coach middle school (which happens to be in the same building as the high school) I had to almost beg the AD to let our kids in free to the first meet of the season.

    williams was, i beleive, too old to wrestle sr. season. i knew him from open rooms back in the day. shepard from western was beat at regionals by steve henry from laporte, then beat again in the ticket round at merrillville by eric bothwell from crown point. if i'm not mistaken it was the second time that year that bothwell beat shepard. Shepherd was a 4x regional champ but fell to Douglas from Valpo in the ticket round at ss. He never wrestled Bothwell or Henry
