  1. Very nice piece on CJ, don't know how Dad keeps the buttons on his shirt! Best of luck on the rest of your season CJ!
  2. I agree! Go Conner! Wrestling under the lights! WOOHOO!!!!
  3. Thanks, they weren't there when I checked last!
  4. Anybody able to provide more complete results from Perry?
  5. Fantastic run Mason! Always fun to watch you wrestle, and congratulations on your 1st IHSAA State Title! Couldn't happen to a nicer young man.
  6. I'll have to agree with the ole Peck0meter, Stacks serves really good food. Always look forward to breakfast there, before a loooooonnnnnnggggg day in the Fieldhouse! Saturday will be just such an occasion, and thank you in advance to the Alafogianis family!
  7. Bwahaha, I don't care who you are, now THAT''s hilarious!!! No offense intended, MD, your program and wrestlers are top notch, but that's still funny!!!
  8. Nothing yet....still waiting for broadcast to start.
  9. My sentiments, exactly :'( Zach was one of the real bright spots at any tournament we attended, always having fun, always with a smile. We'll always miss his warmth, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit.
  10. Definitely STACKS. Really good breakfast.
  11. Sorry decbell1, on this we must disagree. The integrity of the tournament should not be open to compromise, and that has occurred. The IHSAA needs to take corrective action so that no appearance of impropriety is possible. Like another poster stated earlier, it's not necessarily just the coaches to be concerned with but the wrestlers themselves. For some of those who aren't necessarily considered "shoe ins" to win their weight class, just reaching Conseco is a status symbol that is highly sought after and therefore worthy of a slight stretch of the rules if they feel than can do it "under the radar" so to speak. It's human nature. If not, then explain why they don't post the tournament draw from beginning to end in advance? Why the big statements from the IHSAA that they wouldn't release the draw information until after the Regionals had been completed, and yet they have? Therein lies the crux of the matter, and it has been compromised. And if what has been posted online is in fact unofficial, then there shouldn't be anyone in tears if the right thing is done and the official draw is made & released AFTER the Regional results have been reported.
  12. The high moral and ethical ground is what we should all seek, but it doesn't always happen that way as we all know. One perfect example: If a 152 lb wrestler at the Richmond Regional finishes 2nd, he draws into the bracket with #1 ranked and heavy favorite 34-0 and returning State Runner-Up Sammy Bennett in the ticket round in his path to the Big Show at Conseco. If he finishes 3rd at Richmond he draws into the bracket with a solid but unranked wrestler from Crispus Attacks @ #1, in 33-6 Robert Hawthorne. No offense to Hawthorne, who I've never met, but I believe most wrestlers would like their chances against him rather than Bennett, and because of the advance notice they can manipulate the outcome to their benefit. No other Regional's wrestlers had the advantage of this choice, and neither should the Richmond Regional wrestlers. Period. There should be no opportunity allowed for compromising the integrity of the draw whatsoever. Then we wouldn't have to place blind faith in the honesty, or lack thereof, in any of the coaches or wrestlers. Anything less is a mockery. So that is where the high moral ground really exists, in a draw that can be in no way compromised.
  13. Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of the IHSAA not publishing the brackets until the Regionals are final, and also give the Richmond Regional contestants an advantage that the rest of the field wasn't?
  14. Did I miss something, or how did the brackets get posted before the Richmond Regional results are available?
  15. Tootin' your own horn huh? The Power of Positive Thinking - Gotta love it!!! Tomorrow will be very competitive, good luck to all the wrestlers!!!
  16. A little biased, but I'll take New Pal's Jaymes Horan @ 152, along with Mike Phelps @ 171.
  17. Actually, it was Jennings 6-3 over Oliver, eventually, after the longest episodes of tying (catch my breath) shoes that I believe I've ever seen permitted on a mat. Oliver should be in better shape by now though.
  18. Absolutely, great work! Really slick to be able to see all the pairings so quickly! Nice Job!
  19. He's wolfing down some of that home made shaveD ice!!
  20. Yeeeeehaaaawwww.........Pre-state shaveD ice party at Y2's!!!!!!!!
  21. Hunter is a stud, no doubt about it! Keep training young man!
  22. throwforfive, The biggest surprise with New Pal's Phelps at 171 Saturday was that he was in the lineup at all. We had a pretty nasty bug float thru here last week and Mike was still sick. It would have been a much better match if he had any gas in his tank. Hopefully we'll see a rematch down the line.
  23. Good to see JR on the comeback, looking better every match! He won the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship today @ 140, along with Jake Jennings @ 160. Congratulations guys!
