  1. 2009 - Anthony Quiroz -152lbs took second at state with a record of 37-12, 75.5% winning percentage. I don’t know if that’s the worst. Must have been a heck of a run for him though.
  2. You are right, but how did Cortez get seeded higher than Solomey??
  3. It’s going to be tough to beat this bracket. The top three seeds have a combined record of 71-3. Wow!!
  4. The Seltzer effect isn’t as pronounced. There are still a lot of placers and qualifiers in the weight class 120 = 8 state placers and 9 state qualifiers
  5. FCFIGHTER170 brings up a good point. Let's see what the Mendez effect looks like vs the Alred effect: 126 = 15 state placements and 5 state qualifiers 132 = 3 state placements and 10 state qualifiers 138 = 8 state placements and 5 state qualifiers 182 = 8 state placers and 4 state qualifiers 195 = 2 state placers and 2 state qualifiers 220 = 4 state placers and 4 state qualifiers
  6. Sergio Lemley is not on the same level now but he has a very high ceiling and has been very impressive as of late. That’s asking a lot though considering he is completing in Illinois and the difference in weight. Could he be the next Louden Swain??
  7. Littell is a great talent but he is no Mendez. 126 would just be more lopsided.
  8. Mendez is clearly having an impact on which weight classes some of our top wrestlers are competing at. Going off of the wrestler’s credentials on latest IM state rankings 126 = 15 state placements and 5 state qualifiers 132 = 3 state placements and 10 state qualifiers 138 = 8 state placements and 5 state qualifiers
  9. Juan isn’t flying underneath the radar anymore. He opened a lot of eyes on Saturday.
  10. 195 lbs UR - DeMarco (Chesterton) over #15 Bobby Babcock (Hobart) 5-1 182 lbs UR - Jackson (Chesterton) over #13 Mummey (Hobart) 9-3
  11. #11 @126 Roberson CP over #3 @126 Montgomery BB 5-1.
  12. Say what you want, but Hawkins is the MVP of this team.
  13. Nice breakdown of the Dekalb meet! Do you details of the OPRF meet went down?
  14. https://www.iswa.com/event/show/452442923 they present them here
  15. I think a case can be made that EC semi state will have the strongest group of freshmen in the state. 9 of the top 20 ranked kids. Assuming they all compete, I’m sure some will make it to State? Here is the list in no particular order. Sergio Lemley Sam Goin Cody Goodwin Orlando Cruz Aaron Steenbeke Aidan Torres Cole Solomey Christian Carroll Seth Williams Logan Frazier
  16. Lemley pinned both Goin and Frazier at Chesterton’s freestyle duals this past weekend. Lemley is a hammer!
  17. Hunter May brings a national championship title home. Congratulations to the May family!
  18. Not from the same school. They will be attending the same high school. There is a slight distinction in those two statements. Lol.
  19. This is a good point. However, if you look at the list of the top 12, there is possibly one that would fit this criteria.
