  1. I applaud the ref for making the safety call on the Bautista match, and in quick time with the portage heavy I could see how it looked like a slam because the ref more then likely didn't see the knee hit first. So yes I applaud the ref for making calls that he believes or feels are unsafe. I'd rather have kids be able to wrestle the rest of their life if they choose then a kid carted off the mat. Just my own opinion but I guess your not looking for kids safety. To each his own.
  2. I was a bit away from the mat, but I would have to agree that the mat made the sound of the return worse then what it looked like. With that being said I am not saying demien was faking the hurt. I also applaud for him to keep continuing to wrestle. I saw the heavy for portage also get called for a slam off of a double leg, when his knee hit the mat before his opponent. Same mat and same ref. I also applaud that ref for seeing the danger in all these situations and calling it. Wrestling is a very dangerous sport and we all know this, I feel better with refs that are out there looking for the safety of the wrestlers. Tough break for Bautista but he shouldn't have put himself in that position for the call.
  3. Tougher weight class then I think most anticipate!
  4. We get to see this potential match-up in the quarters possibly!
  5. Or black just takes him down.... I'm no means saying don't cheer on sellmer either, but I didn't see much out of him when he wrestled Rumph. I know that was earlier in the season and he is probably more aggressive. We shall see this weekend!
  6. Sommers has lost to Rumph but has beat melloh. It's going to be exciting!
  7. Rumph had the flu, he just didn't feel it. Black put on a show. I'm sure we will be seeing these two under the lights next Saturday.
  8. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/78/7e/51/787e513715263a187f77682fe21ab8f0.jpg
  9. Portage sends 8 Peele, poynter, Prado, rumph, Kasper, cornejo, Torres, and maceo
  10. Geez when put like this, it makes it even more exciting!! Nice job! Cosgrove, you owe us all coffee.
  11. Otr, couldn't recall if they were in the same weight or not lol
  12. Yeah, you're completely right. Poynter lost to the eventual state runner up, cornejo lost to the 5th place kid, Gaige lost to a hudkins. McIntosh lost to Joe Lee and rumph, who came out of no where for most of you places 4th. The one that was shocking was Bam losing in the finals. Also, no one is a lock. Brayton Lee was undefeated his freshman year and got tossed in a headlock. High chances of winning state then most, yes I'd say both lees and Parris, but no one is a for sure lock because why would we wrestle then to just take 2nd?
  13. Ouch, cummins a two timer is a maybe now? I mean yeah he lost at al smith, but it was his first tourney back from injury. I could see 6 coming from the EC SS.
  14. This SS has a chance at 4-5. Possibly more. But I'd like to see a lot of them place.
  15. Haskins Peele Poynter Cummings Reitz Rumph McIntosh Hatch Lemley Swank or winner of fattore/Malone ticket round Davison Davison Eli Streck
  16. Fattore has a tough ticket round against Malone. If he gets through I'd say he has a shot at beating swank
  17. Streck surely didn't move like a heavy. He was quick and strong. Very aggressive and a dominate top game. I'd say he should be in the talk for most dominate big men. Maybe not THE most dominate ever but to say "because he had losses" should discredit him from the talk. Definitely top 5 in my books.
  18. Better yet, YouTube Royboy lol
  19. lol I love reading your posts! It was an awesome day!
  20. It wasn't an intentional push. Black said "he was going for a takedown" lol Exciting match, hope both can clean it up and just give a great showing the next two or three weeks! Always an exciting match to watch. Everyone gets involved when these two are on the mat.
  21. It wasn't the fact that they were trying to take away two points from black, it was trying to get the exact scoring right. 5 takedowns and 2 escapes for rumph should be 12 points. 6 escapes 2 takesdowns and a 2 near fall count is 12. Black never lost control after the takedown and the back points, but was called that way and rumph was given an escape and then black took him down. It's a matter of opinions I guess on that sequence
  22. Shave two points off. Lmfao if you only knew.
  23. It was a very exciting for both of those matches. It's gonna be a fun next couple weeks for sure!
  24. The Prado and Tolin match was exciting! As was Peele and Maldonado! Maldonado launched Peele, his feet were higher then his head at one point lol
