  1. It would be nice if they would turn the mics on. No mic on Mats 2, 3 or 4 at Evansville.
  2. Hammack and Ison both make quick work of their opponents. That will be one helluva Ticket Round Match. A former 4th and 3rd Placer at State, both 2x qualifiers and one will go home!
  3. Keith Parker (Ben Davis) wins 9-7 SV1 over Josiah Dedeaux (TH South) in a helluva match! Throws left and right in this one. Dedeaux led 6-1 after hitting a headlock going into the 3rd period. A double leg takedown and then a throw to his back brought Parker back to tie it up at 7-7, taking it into SV. Dedeaux tried a throw in SV but couldn't finish it and Parker got the takedown for the win. Great match to go back and watch if you missed it!
  4. I got the error once, but it worked correctly a few minutes later. Still working now.
  5. No idea. I haven't been able to go for a few years. I was always able to get suite tickets through a friend but he never knew for sure about availability until a couple of days before. Living in another state no longer afford me the contacts I used to have. I'm currently trying to figure what I'll need to do to get them next year for STATE!
  6. Only if you're in the Suites upstairs!
  7. It sure would have been nice if they linked wrestler profiles when they built the brackets for the SS. Sucks you can't click to get more info on each wrestler, like you can 95.84% of the time.
  8. In the past, the Finals were on TV, but if you were out of State you could watch for free on IHSAA.tv. It was blacked out there locally, but available out of area. Any idea if that has changed? I know I'm in the minority, being a few states away...
  9. Vanover won their match at Team State in SV. I'd call it a true toss up and Courtney has a great shot for sure. Correction: Vanover won 5-4 in TB-1. Just re-watched the match. Very even in terms of control, shots taken, defended, etc. and of course, score.
  10. Looks like Clay Martin is out of the bracket at 220. In his place is Justus Dill of Gibson Southern, 12-20. Dill is a sophomore who lost by fall to Mason Hines in the first round of the Regional. I'm sure this will be a nice experience for Justus and a real bummer for Martin who is a senior. On a separate note: As I went through the brackets, I saw a likely Ticket Round Match between Evan Seng and Keith Parker of Ben Davis. Parker has 3 losses on the season, all 3 in Sudden Victory. So while I think most people will have Seng penciled into their Pick 'Em's, don't sleep on that Ticket Round Match!
  11. Y2, do you know if the State Finals will be able to be viewed with a Flo membership? In the past, I had to switch to IHSAA.tv app to watch the Finals, and everything up to the Final was available on Flo/TW. But the Finals on IHSAA.tv were always free. It seems they are charging for State Championship events now on there? Is that correct? Will I have to pay a 2nd time just to watch the finals? I know I'm jumping ahead a week, but i'm curious. I know when the football championships (and semi-state, I believe) were on, payment was required. That's a change from the past as I have watched many Championships thru the IHSAA TV app.
  12. FIFY Daton Fix #2 Vito Arujau #3 Break the top 3 and Jesse can consider this a Monster year. Anything between 4-12 is where he slots now. He's had some wins in that group, but beating some of those guys in March is a different story. Regardless, he's having a great freshman campaign and has a bright future ahead. Looking forward to seeing how he finishes!
  13. Didn't know about Turner. Hope he can go for the kid's sake. But a Ticket Round Match against Ruhlman makes for a TALL mountain to climb. Martin is definitely a big question mark. Is he healthy? Can he avenge last year's loss to Rose? Would definitely be nice to see those guys get their shot, especially Martin being a Senior.
  14. I just went through all brackets with focus on the MD guys. Here is how I have it broken down... 3 at greater than 75% chance to advance 3 at 50% chance to advance 3 at 25-40% chance to advance 4 at under 25% chance to advance I'll leave the individual names out, though it wouldn't be difficult to figure out. So I'm right there with you, the odds are 4, maybe 5. If they beat those #s, good on 'em!
  15. I hope you're right, but have my doubts. I figured it at 4.5 at first glance. Personally I think they'll advance between 3-5. Guess I'll dig into the brackets and matchups tonight to see if I change my mind. I would love your thoughts on who gets through, however.
  16. I'll say this.. Looking forward to the semifinals at 195!
  17. In general I'd say the Castle Regional did not get favorable draws. I'd put the over under of Mater Dei wrestlers to State at 4.5 (of 13 qualified for SS). Lots of quality wrestlers, though not necessarily favorites to place at State, will run into a wall and not get the opportunity. Happens that way sometimes, especially in a bear of a Semi-State such as Evansville.
  18. What's the over/under for remaining undefeateds after Semi-State?
  19. Looks like Clay Martin lost in the semifinals by Injury Default. Hope its nothing serious. Landon Horning lost in the semifinals to Brendan Elpers by fall? TW shows horning was up 11-2 and lists the fall at 6:00. Was it truly a last second comeback? A reversal to a fall perhaps? At first glance, don't see any other big upsets. Is Vanover over Keegan Williams a mild upset? Not sure on that one.
  20. RBY is like a lion who plays with its food. Many matches appear closer than they are. This match wasn't close. Like most of RBY's matches. Mendez is having a great frosh campaign, but beating RBY at this point would be a major upset. There's a reason RBY is a multi-time National Champ.
  21. Been hittin' the bottle pretty hard this afternoon??
  22. I'd love to see it in Evansville! Would travel 6 hrs north to be there! Now if I can only get Suite Access like I have been able to in the past for SS. One thing that could be beneficial, is the odds are good weather will be better in Evansville. Obviously no guarantee, but at that time of year, I'd rather take my chances in E'ville than FW. That said, I about froze my cajones off at Xmas in Evansville this year!!
  23. You and me both!! Another example to echo your point with PSU and Sanderson. If you remember a few years ago, the first time or two they wrestled Austin Desanto beat RBY. The 3rd match up, RBY kept his left hand almost behind his back so Desanto couldn't get to and control his wrist. It stiffled AD's offense and RBY won, that and all their subsequent matches. It's almost the opposite of Parris/Kerkvliet as both Parris and Desanto utilize an offense based on a dump series and moves off of it.
  24. I get your point, but the technique used is what stifled Mason and it did so again this week. Mason fought it off and pulled out a win, but really had no offense or ability to get off a shot, because of that wrist control. The difference in year showed he could overcome it this year, but I wouldn't want to rely on that every time. I'd rather make some kind of adjustment to neutralize what Kerk is trying to do.
