  1. Yeah, i have no doubt, jarred could do it. The other guy, well he backed out, not taking those fights will hurt him.
  2. Well a lot of people seem to think he will be fighting in the ufc someday, so why would he want to take an ammy loss.
  3. Again no chance, because those two wrestle in the semifinals, but I still agree that there should be wrestle backs.
  4. Brooks won. From what I heard his original opponent backed out and Chris tanner (penn grad) took the fight despite already losing once to brooks. I think it was a tko.
  5. That being said, I agree there should be wrestle backs in regionals. One bad match should not end a kids season.
  6. No but Johnson did. The 2nd place kid from smileys sectional goes against the first place kid in Johnsons sectional in the semifinals
  7. Not possible, smiley lost to the 2nd place kid. That kid will wrestle the person who beat Johnson in the 2nd round.
  8. So let's say hypothetically a highly ranked kid hurt at sectionals and loses a match, comes back to wrestle in the third and fourth place match (he didn't want his season to end and could still continue) then injury defaults so he can rest up and heal. Goes into regionals and the 1st seed of the other sectional is also highly ranked. One great wrestler goes home that shouldn't. There are other things that can happen that cause a better wrestler to go home at regionals and someone worse to advance.
  9. lee has a chance to beat micic. Guaranteeing a win over the number 1/2 ranked wrestler in the nation is ridiculous, especially when it's a freshman.
  10. He probably has Wes winning, but there are some who are capable of it.
  11. I think Lahue, forte, miller, and streck would have something to say about that
  12. A year ago in a couple close matches. Doesn't sound like it's crazy to believe smith would have a chance.
  13. My guess is it would be a close match. You shouldn't guarantee red would beat someone who might win state himself. If that's the case everyone at 120 should just quit, because red is unbeatable. .. really, it doesn't matter because smith didn't bump up but yeah so much for coach red figuring out smith.

Pretty much everyone's picks have been legit. If there is a bias it is quite small. My pick is Ferguson.
  15. I have seen him in action and of course he was sick when he lost. Things like coaches making excuses and bringing him up constantly is a little much imo.
  16. I guess I mean he couldn't get anything going on his feet. I honestly thought he was going to choose top and even when he chose bottom I said to the people I was with that he made a mistake, I even said he was going to lose when he didn't chose top. He might have not seen it or something but they definitely showed top before he chose. But if he doesn't get the turn he's in the same situation. He played into Wilson's strongest position and avoided his best...
  17. 106: Hildebrandt - partially because I'm stubborn and picked him earlier in the year, and partially because he's wrestled 5 guys in the top 7 (the only two he hasn't wrestled was himself and konrath) so he will be prepared. 113: Ferguson - he hasn't got the comp which could hurt him... but he beat sinko at the impo. 120: Lahue - he's returning to this weight with his two biggest worries imo coming up from 106, in red and sinko. 126: Micic - I don't feel I should have to explain, even with the Super frosh in this weight. 132: James - Honestly I thought he would win a title already. I'm not exactly comfortable with this pick but the loss to lykins probably helped him. 138: Hughes - He gets his first title. People start saying he will be a three timer and consider him a lock the rest of his hs career, unless he ends up in a weight class with Forte or lee. 145: Forte - he just came back for the Al smith and imo didn't look 100%, and then had a great match with Lecount, after getting some work in... good luck. 152: Carroll - I pulled a name out of a hat. 160: Corsaro - I actually think big Hughes gets it done but it's about time Corsaro wins it, so I'll pick him. 170: Mccloskey - I'm not counting out Osborn who has impressed me, but he's been so close so... yeah 182: Rypel - just because. 195: Kral - He beat Rypel. 220: Robinson - I might actually pay full attention to the 220s this year 285: Bernard - he's a monster.
  18. Heck I thought Noblitt was going to contain you and keep it close, with his size and speed, but we all knew how that worked out. Keep surprising people, it's exciting.
  19. It really depends. Last year in the 120 state finals match Hughes probably should have chose top, he got dominated on his feet, so getting a point wouldn't of mattered and top imo was his best position. His coaches seemed to agree but I think he chose neutral anyways. It depends on situation. My last hs match I was playing takedown let em up on a kid, he chose top and cradled me, it was over. If he would have chose bottom chances are he would have got teched, so do you think he was wrong?
  20. I thought Hughes was going to win it last year and I was completely wrong. I give the nod to James based off of his experience, something Hughes didn't have on the hs level (and I don't see James telling his coach no when his coach suggests top like Hughes did) but I can very well be wrong. This time I won't be surprised if im wrong.
  21. You definitely just described a majority of the kids that wrestle. Yes some of them take off the headphones for the face off but why does that matter, he's trying to stay focused and calm. And about the hat thing... are you serious. Curse those kids with their hats and their hippedy hop music!
  22. the Hobart faithful were saying there might be a blackout at the Al smith despite sinko being there. Seeing as torres and sinko are there, there won't be but... yeah he was kidding is my gues.
  23. But rentas did beat a tough Loe like 8-2 and only lost to Forte 4-0 (I know it was fortes first tournament back or something like that) but still. It would be a big suprise, and definitely an upset but I just don't see it as a dark horse situation
