  1. Agreed. Definitely a down year for Reitz. But hard to think they will ever actually be bad. Still a quality team. I don't think they would have beaten mount Vernon or central without injuries though. Closer? Without a doubt, but unlikely to win. If all 3 teams had everyone they would have liked to have, Reitz would still be in abit of a rut; Todrank and Reese were big looses. Mount Vernon has had several injuries that hurts their line up. Central's 195 who went to semi-state last year has been in and out all year. Not only that, but their 126 got into trouble and didn't wrestle 90% of the season. (Also semi-state qualifier) Mount Vernon, whatever happened to Hoehn? Could he not make varsity or injury or what?
  2. Could be a great thing if they keep up with it and use it wisely! Excited to see where it will go!
  3. Agreed. Hard for anyone In the SIAC to compete with mater dei. Especially when they could have 2 finalist/champs. At LEAST one other placer (Pierre) and a handful of qualifiers.
  4. If you look at the post about the last 6 years in the SIAC, it looks pretty consistent to me. Just because they are consistently in the 4th place area doesn't mean they aren't consistent. Nor is being 4th in a power conference like the SIAC something to hang a head over.
  5. Evansville central beat MD, castle, memorial, reitz, and everyone else in the SIAC in the team score at State so therefore they must be the best of them all!lol
  6. I'll predicts first round wins, not bold enough to pick places this week 106: Egli Nawl Dillbeck Konrath 113: Ferguson Pellacer Horty Luigs 120: Brown Burke (good match) Arney Johnson 126: Lee Hemmings (another close one) Willis Bethel 132: Davis Jordan Ramsey Todrank 138: Seng Petrig Dixon (great match) Schnell 145: Williams Karges Farmer Pierre 152: Kelley Wilson Weinzapel Riegal 160: McDaniel Forzley Martin Kemper 170: Rickenbaugh Taylor Lockyer Kempf 182: Bassemeier Dowell Hurlsing Konerding 195: Roberts Orth Jefferson Brown 220: Barnes Chaote Kyles (upset alert though) Klem HWT: Cox Dosset Miller Powell This puts my count at 32 for the Evansville central sectional and 24 for the castle sectional. But with all the swing matches, it could end up way different.
  7. Only one that should have wrestle backs is Semi-State. The reason being is because you have to be a regional champ, or beat a regional champ. If #1 and #2 in the state are in the same regional. That means a regional champ is gonna get beat by #2, even if that wrestler might be #3 in the state! Does that mean the guy that is thought of as the possible 3rd place finisher at state doesn't deserve to go? He did everything he could besides beat a Guy he wasn't "supposed" to beat.
  8. 160 will be swept by central sectional. That's my prediction.
  9. Evansville Central could have a couple. Egli, Lee, Kelley
  10. He got stuck by North Knox in 18 seconds. Fluke.
  11. Gibson Southern or Evansville Central.
  12. I think he will be one of the top by the time he ends his career here.
  13. I think your missing Jacob Smith from Evansville Central here at 145. Has a win over Mathew Ruddick and was beating Pierre until 3rd period at the SIAC. Only looses are to Pierre, Wienzapel at 152, and Floyd Central at 145.
  14. Not that it matters between #2 and #3, but what was the criteria that made Forzley #2? Tristan has not wrestled him and he has a little bit of a better record. Was one of his looses to a kid Forzley beat? I'll go ahead and say I predict the same thing at 160. McDaniel over Forzley this week, Forzley returns the favor at Regionals.
  15. Memorial wins 3-2. Memorial secures the win. Score is 19-34 with 2 weights left.
  16. Schnell beats Petrig 3-1. Memorial leads 19-31. Castle needs some bonus points to pull this off. 3 weights left
  17. Memorial wins by fall at 113. Not before getting thrown in a headlock though! Memorial up 27-8. Big match here at 120.
  18. Memorial with a pin at 195. I guess point was taken away for the misconduct on Castle. (Even though I think he had a very good argument) 220 forfeit for memorial. 12-8 Memorial leads.
  19. Castle wins 3-1 in OT. Castle 3 Memorial 0. Castle coach already warned.
