  1. Great kid! Great school! Congrats to Eli on finding a great new home!
  2. Very proud of this young man. Been coaching 6 years, this is my first kid I am sending to college as a Head Coach and the second overall. Love being able to see a kid continue his career at the next level!

  5. Austin Bethel was pretty good in the Ford Center, except if he saw an Avon kid. Jarred Dunn made a name for himself last year!!! WHO WILL BE NEXT?!
  6. South Adams definitely Came and showed they belong!! One thing I found very interesting is the gap in the 1A and 2A and even 3A this year is not big. Rochester beat Western earlier this season by 3, as well as Cascade beating Hamilton Heights by 1. The top 4 in 1A I think can easily compete with any 2A and I think any 3A school based on some results. Love seeing the small schools continue to grow and compete with the big dogs!
  7. Amazing day of wrestling. Congrats to Tell City on an amazing run! Also congrats to Adams Central and Rochester and everyone else in the 1A field! It was a great day of wrestling and everyone brought their best with what they had. Hope to see you all back at this great event next season, but until then, the Cadets are getting back to work! 364 days until Team State 2024!
  8. 9 AM tomorrow the madness begins, good luck to the field! The Cadets are excited to be back and show what they are able to do! #CadetsOnTheClimb IMG_3641.MOV IMG_3641.MOV
  9. The Cadets are ready! IMG_3472.MOV
  10. We got the 5 Seed as a vote in last year ya never know!
  11. Think you may have your starfires under rated in that!
  12. He is staying at 195 unless he’s cutting an arm off! That boy is BIG. Him and Purdy are 2 SPECIMENS!!!
  13. Logan Bickel had :09 seconds in a match at Mooresville. Believe fastest fall of the tournament in as :05 seconds from the Carmel 195 pounder!
  14. Mater Dei had a kid named Noah Schwitzer (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) was a multiple time ISWA state champ as a cadet and junior and never cracked their line up for a sectional. Depth wise I always think of Mater Dei and the quality of their back ups!
  15. Did some more looking and came up with this! Ed Pendowski Portage 2 Seasons 30-2, 33-2 Terry O'Niel Westfield 2 Seasons 25-5, 30-4 John Henry Harrison WL 2 Seasons 39-3, 28-3 Quinn Harris Cascade 2 Seasons 28-6, 22-1 (still duals left) Lance Bheeler Mishawaka 3 Seasons 23-2, 23-5, 23-4 Ray Black Jr Madison 3 Seasons 19-3, 25-3, 23-4 Kevin Blundell Monrovia 3 Season 18-2, 18-2, 20-2 Matt Schoettle Perry Meridian 4 Seasons 12-1, 17-1, 16-2, 10-5 Mark Hidalago River Forest 4 Seasons 18-3, 5-0, 20-1, 18-1 John Smith Muncie SouthSide 5 Seasons 10-0, 10-0, 11-1, 10-2, 12-1 Mike Goebel Evansville Mater Dei 5 Seasons 10-1, 11-1, 9-0-2, 14-0, 12-0 Tim Klingensmith Jay County 6 Seasons 10-0, 9-1, 10-2, 9-1, 11-2, 15-3 Everyone here hit 50 wins in less than 60 duals from what I can gather.
  16. Who is the the fastest Head Coach to 50 or 100 coaching wins. I hit 50 this week and it got me wondering how fast some other coaches were able to get there. From a little research on the coaches page it's looking like these coaches may be the 10 fastest to 50 Wins as a Head Coach. I am 50-7 and did it in less than 2 seasons, but more so was looking for any coach to hit 50 in under 60 duals wrestled considering some coaches back in the day couldn't wrestle nearly as many duals as we can now! Ed Pendowski Portage John Smith Muncie SouthSide John Henry Harrison WL Kevin Blundell Monrovia Mark Hidalago River Forest Mike Goebel Evansville Mater Dei Ray Black Jr. Madison Terry O'Niel Westfield Tim Klingensmith Jay Couty Quinn Harris Cascade Also as I was looking I came across the infamous Rex Peckinpaugh 1000-300-3 MANNNNN! 40 years and 1303 dual meets coached, thats a number to chase for sure! Is anyone able to confirm these or maybe tell me if I am wrong on this list? I didn't look too hard to see who got to 100 first or how fast, was hoping I could get some help from the board, but it did look like Ed Pendowski may have been the fastest to 100!
  17. Thank you @gonzoron you guys have a great group! Hope to see success from your guys in the coming weeks!
  18. Kokomo is a solid team. We wrestled them last year in a tough dual. A few kids missing weight definitely hurt them on day 2.
  19. Heights has FF 195 all year unless Tilton was there. Everyone has JV kids funneling in and out of the line up. You show up and compete with the kids you have. Grow up. This was a great event with great teams that put their toes on the line and got after it on the mat. A great warm up for team state!
  20. Rensselaer over Cascade 42-27. Was a great dual. Swing matches decided it! Great 2 days of wrestling and as was said, thank you to West Central for stepping in for Decatur Central so that we were able to get 9 matches. Thank you to Rensselaer Central for hosting a great event can’t wait to be back next year!
