So now you are calling kids out? NICE!!!

As a coach at a small school that doesn't churn out state qualifiers, I have a request for all the underdogs on the 13th.
 
Don't worry about who you've drawn at semistate. Nobody's past wins, losses, or accolades mean anything once the whistle blows. You've busted your butts all year, more than anyone not involved with wrestling could possibly comprehend. Your blood, sweat, and determination have gotten you this far. Let nothing stand in your way. Fight for victory with every fiber of your being. Win or lose, if you know you have left it all on the mat, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
 
Many great wrestlers have imparted profound words of motivation to the next generation of wrestlers. But I think the strongest words I've ever read have been from a world-class runner, the late Steve Prefontaine. "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."
 
Have a great week of practice, and give 'em hell, boys.

3. Garrison Lee lost to McCormick first match back then beat shaffer
2. Ben Stewart 2x ticket rounder lost to tonte and Parris also undefeated
1. Tonte runner up beat jones and lost to jones.

I guess further north than Evansville. Warren, cathedral, milan and Monrovia

If your meet got cancelled..... Milan is looking for another team for their 6-way on Saturday

Well as a coach who was sitting next to that alternate when Bryce went out and defaulted it was kind of confusing and hard to take. It denied our kid the experience of coming down just to save someones draw. Well i am glad the other kids that were hurt and couldn't compete let their alternates wrestle. Just very disappointed.

1)  If you can't keep your mouth shut. ( and I can't)  Sit or stand far away from the mat.
2)  You think your coaching during the match is helping...   It's not!
3)  Don't talk to much on the message board.
4)  Don't pay to much attention to the rankings.
5)  Don't expect more from others than you do of yourself.
6)  Regular season losses are almost never a bad thing.
7)  The ticket round at Semi-State is the most stressful match of the year!
8)  Let you son decide what type of wrestler he is going to be.
9)  Surround him with good people and step back.
10) It goes way to fast.  Make sure you and your son enjoy the ride.

Jake Cavins of Milan won over Matt Hayes of Providence at 195 finals this past weekend at the SIWC Championships.
