    The details are still being hashed out on that coach Spencer. I am pretty sure of one thing, I will not 100% agree with the way the tournament is presented. That being said I like all coaches who have posted their support for a classed team state must be willing to work with the idea. The structure of the tournament will most likely start as an invitational, but could grow to something a lot bigger and better. The first year the coaches association will probably be looking for something very managable. That is not to say that even the following year changes could not be made to garner more participation and hit the eventual goal of an all in tournament. I guess what I am hoping can happen is all coaches put their differences aside on the structure of the tournament, and agree on something. Thats not to say not to be principaled in what your idea of team state is suppose to be, but come to the table with an open mind. I can promise you that no coach in the state is going to get exactly what they want from the start, but the association has been given an open endorsement from the IHSAA to create their own team state and I hope we take advantage of that. If you or any other coach would like to be apart of creating the team state you can contact mr McCormick or any of your regional reps to get more information. IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUT. Lets get as many coaches as possible working toward the same goal. A classed team state. Terry Tipton

    bharmon I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you. Last year 80% of the coaches were on record for wanting a classed team state tournement. That is hardly no one caring. The coaches association had meetings and committees that seemed to have the same idea a classed team state. Then out of the blue they held one meeting and tryed to totally change the format from what the majority of coaches actually wanted. So that leads us to where we are today. We have a coaches association that didn't listen to what the coaches wanted. I am sorry, but the coaches assocition needs to step up and fight for the coaches on a whole. If they do not then the association and their membership are not worth anything. I have heard a lot of questions from theIHSWCA on here. One big one has always been: How do we get more member? May I suggest one simple thing. Try and support what the coaches want and maybe your membership will actually grow. The coaches want a classed team state and I am willing to bet that if you give them that you will see a huge spike in membership. So untill the IHSWCA gets off their butts and fight for what the coaches want they are a worthless organization. I hope on December 4th the voices of reason show up in force and actually fight for what is right for the state on a whole.

    Not sure about North Miami, but i did see that whitcko had two forfeits. It looks like 220 and hvy gave up 6 for Whitcko. I wish they had some names along with the dual then it would be easier to tell if North Miami were for real. That being said big win for North Miami congrats and you must be doing something right.

    Thanks for the clarification. That is a good nice to know. As far as the South Adams fan is concerned, they may be the most complete team in the Fort Wayne semi state, but they are not the best. That being said with a little help from others in the sectional it may get interesting. I still have Belmont winning but it may get fairly close.

    A little off subject, but are any of the coaches going to be asking if the other coaches are in favor of the classed team state being purposed to the IHSWCA Sunday?

    Brooks isn't even in the Fort Wayne semi state. Not that I am not watching out for him just that its a local paper and you would think it would at least be about the semi state area. All this being said Fort Wayne is down on a whole even for Fort Wayne's standards, and the article was able to throw a bone to a few programs that don't get the recognition they deserve. On down by a whole I would say that pertains to the team side more so then the individual side of things. Fort Wayne may not have a single team with 14 solid wrestlers.

    Thats a really cool format. I haven't seen that at too many tournaments and it should be a fun one. Who are the favorites to advance in each bracket? This tourney looks to have teams from all over the state.

    I second the notion that this is not a very well written article. Maybe someone actually involved with wrestling could help out and be a contributor. That being said there is no bad press for wrestling. Also the last line about there being no team state may not be true after this weekend. We should see about writting an article on the classed team state being proposed this weekend at the coaches association meeting.

    Breakdown by classes 1a- 17 of 106 teams on record. 16% 2a- 30 of 104 teams on record. 28% 3a-23 of 102 teams on record. 22.5% over 20% of the teams and climbing thats a really impressive number in just over 3 days up on the board. Anyone who has dual meet see if you can get any more teams on record. Thanks for the help and Sunday we can bring the data to the IHSWCA meeting. 7 teams away from a whole semi states worth.     I like 2 weeks before sectionals. I know there are some conference tourneys, but conference tourneys could be moved back, because there is not much going on besides other conference tourneys the following weekend. That gives the whole season to invite the proper teams and also doesn't effect any of the major tournements. Lets just try and make it so the schedule is set every year. That way teams do not have to change their schedule more then once for the tournement. The later in the year the better plus schools would bring more students if it was not during the holidays.

    I agree with Coach, and that will definatly be part of the discussion this weekend. I just want to get as many coaches on record for the general idea of class wrestling team tourney. If we can show a general consensus we can work forward with the details and make the tourney a spectacular event. Also I want to personally invite coach Corbett to the December 4th meeting. I think it is going to be just as important to have your input on the event as it will be to have your general thoughts on a classed team tournement. Thank you for weighing in coach. We are now up to 61 coaches lets try and get that to 100 by friday. Make some calls lets get every coach possible on record. Regional reps please contact your coaches lets get this list together.

    Sorry for the late update today, but it has been a busy one. We are at almost 20% of the team coaches being on record. We still have a few days left before the all important coaches association meeting. Please inform your coaches that we want to know where they stand on the issue of a classed team state.

    Thank you Karl for the Update. Speaking of updates, we are currently at 47 schools that are on record. That is right at 15 percent. Please get on record before the December 4th coaches association meeting. Also lets get some coaches to the meeting. Right now we are the silent majority and we need to step up and put our time and effort where our mouth is. If you can not attend please let your regional rep know where you stand on the issue.

    Who all will be attending the vital meeting this Sunday? This maybe the last chance to get a classed team state. Lets make this a huge crowd and let our voices finally be heard. Bobby Cox wouldn't listen and I for one will be damned if our own coaches association won't. Name School Coach.

    Great point even if they do not have a name on here, but you can get a verbal commit that would be great. Fight for this now or loose it forever.

    Coach O'neill, Either I or one of the coaches involved with the team state next year will be in contact with you. Is it fair to assume Westfield will be in for a class team state? December 4th we are bringing several coaches down to the coaches meeting and want to know for sure where you stand on the issue. Thank you for stepping up and being a man of integrity.

    Just an update. We currently have heard from 32 coaches. That is just over 10 percent of the teams. In 1a we have 12 of 106 teams on record. In 2a we have 12 of 104 teams on record. In 3a we have 9 of 102 teams on record. Remember the December 4th Coaches Association meeting.

    The coaches association changed the proposal in the spur of the moment to a holiday dual. On December 4th the coaches fight back. The way they are going to do it is through organization. Right now on the site we are finding venues and finding coaches with the same views to fight for team state. By weeks end we may have the number of coaches to truly change the sport for the good and get classed team state once and for all.

    Keep them coming guys. I will be looking into the U of I field house. Seems like they will need some events for it in the upcoming years. Maybe wrestling team state can help fill that void.

    Just an update we are currently have just under 5% of the schools on record I will be updating this each morning and afternoon for the next week. So if you are a coach please let yourself be heard. Lets try and get 100 coaches to weigh in on the subject over the week. Thank you for your help and your input.
