    You are correct, Galagore. I know in my industry (a global industry) that word is used on a regular basis as just meaning “to slow down”. The word is definitely not to be taken as derogatory in every context.

    Seems to me like PhillyFanMD asking “Has Ross and Cheaney ever wrestled before?” was a way of trying to do his homework.

    At first I assumed that, too. However, when you check someone’s profile, it indicates how many bananas that person has. For example, you have 6220. I don’t know how one gets them in the first place, but it would seem that you can “donate” them. But I don’t know what that means.

    I’d be interested in hearing if a powerhouse team will be missing a key member, but I wouldn’t necessarily need to know the reasons why.

    What is the seating capacity of the “Hoosier Gym” in Knightstown? I hope to attend the meet there between Pendleton Heights and Greenfield Central, and so I am wondering how early I need to arrive to get a seat. Will there be SRO available if it fills up, or will the Fire Marshall not allow that?

    So if a wrestler misses the first half of the season for an injury, then he is ineligible to compete in the sectional? Or if the wrestler spends most of the season on JV for a school that has a limited number of JV events? Maybe I am misunderstanding?

    Not to excuse the coach for his reported actions, but his punishment is technically more than just a 2 game suspension. He is being banned from the tournament, too, along with the rest of the school. And whether his motives were to help a foreign student get a good education or simply to improve the chances of his basketball team winning, presumably he isn’t getting his money back. Obviously, the IHSAA wanted to send a strong message to the school (and other schools who might consider doing the same thing). I agree that it is unfortunate that innocent parties must suffer, too. But in life there is often collateral damage that occurs when people err.

    I saw the new wrestling coach for Eastern Hancock is Nick Holliday. However, I saw the website for Blue River Valley ( in same Conference as Eastern Hancock) says their coach is also Nick Holliday. Are there really 2 Nick Hollidays? Or has the BRV website not been updated with a new coach’s name?

    I heard 3rd hand (so I guess just an unconfirmed rumor) that Nick Holliday is taking over as head coach at Eastern Hancock. Can anyone confirm?

    With start of practice imminent, does anyone have news of replacements for the positions still listed as vacant on the first page of this thread?

    Well, the state tournament actually starts at sectional time. So technically you have to win several matches before you step on the podium at Bankers Life. But no doubt IHPO is tough to win.

    Just curious why you listed their 2018 State results rather than for 2019?

    I don’t think Indiana education laws would allow high school kids to miss this much school (3 days) to participate in an athletic event.

    Ha ha. TeamGarcia, I think you changed my quote just a bit. My mention of Captain Obvious was intended to be a gentle subtle jab at someone else on here that also used to post on the old IHSWCA discussion board and other wrestling related discussion boards years ago.
