  1. Why are we adding rules when the majority of refs can't get our current set right? Seems ridiculous!
  2. This post is not intended to embarass anyone, just wanted some answers. At the Merrillville semi-state there were 2 forfeits to start the day one was to Jason Tsirtsis and the other was to Graham Redweik of Caston. Why were these matches forefeited? Just curious because I'm sure someone would have liked to have that spot.
  3. All time should be an easy one. Goebel with 12 championships in 21 years.
  4. Should be worth the price of admission. Merrillville vs. Crown Point fans in Merrillville. Love it!
  5. It's only been a few years since Andrew Howe did the unthinkable and tech falled the field. Is Jason Tsirtsis in line to repeat this feat? He recently tech falled #3 Charlie Mavros in Sectionals this past weekend. Anyone think this is something he will try to do or just pin, win and get off the mat.
  6. It was on page 2 and then you commented on it, bringing it back to page 1...hmm
  7. He worked a very strong Mishawaka field from what i've heard.
  8. The results have not updated, anybody know how he did? Also Branden Nelson was one win away from placing after coming into the tournament unseeded.
  9. How good is this freshman Tommy Forte at 138? He walked through Mishawaka like it was a joke.
  10. Isn't Heavyweight up to 285? WOW
  11. That's a great day. It is terribly tough to lose first round and then rattle off 4 wins in a row.
  12. Agreed Coach. Looks like Al Smith would have walked away witht he frst 7 weight classes in the matchup.
  13. I believe Lowell's Ryan Patterson 195lber, placed 3rd. He was unseeded as well.
  14. http://www.indianamat.com/wp-content/uploads/alsmith2011.pdf Can someone from Mishawaka forward this bracket application so other tournaments can use it. There tournament finished about a hour ago and the info is already posted.
  15. It's funny that the Al Smith tourney does a 10 times better job with their bracket then Northwestern University does with the Midlands.
  16. 182 takedown in last 15 seconds looked kind of sketchy as well.
  17. So what was so terrible of a call?
  18. Any possible great matchups that will result in the fall of a #1? Lighter weights will be at the Al Smith this weekend Boston Brooks Ayersman Only Ayersman should be tested in my opinion with 2 top 5 wrestlers in Binion and Crume at the tourney. Any #1 vs. #2 this weekend?
  19. Since when do we put a vote to 14 year olds as to whether someone should be on the team or not?
  20. We still raise the hands of wrestlers who win by forfeit correct? Lets not bash the referee too much on this one. So your senior 132lber had to sit out a match. So did the other teams 126lber because you didn't bring anyone to wrestle him. I think the referee made the right call. If you check your wrestler into the wrong weight class then your team should be punished not get a mulligan. What if that 126lber had gotten injured in those 60 seconds? What if he had tore an acl and his senior season was lost forever? I know this is a HUGE what if but we've all seen crazy things happen. Good luck to you the rest of the season and I hope both sides learned something from this mishap.
  21. I believe pulling someone from a weight is the right call. If you have a freshman (14 years old in his 2nd year of wrestling) on your team that is wrestling 140 and you're wrestling Crown Point, you sit that kid so he doesn't get hurt unitentionally and he doesn't quit wrestling because he just got owned. Don't get me wrong all situations are different. That's where a coaches judgement of his wrestlers strengths and weaknesses, physically and mentally need to be respected. There are some wrestlers that are 19 years old out there. You think it is fair for them to go up against most 14 year olds? Come on Man!
