  1. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I reposted the link on my facebook after donating.
  2. With Jason Tsirtsis in this weight class undefeated ranked #3 in the nation this will be a real test for him. The Unattached wrestlers may put Tsirtsis at a 4 seed. Here's the list of wrestlers. More than likely a 2 or 3 seed. 149: No. 15 Caleb Ervin, Illinois No. 19 Mitch Minotti, Lehigh No. 3 Jason Tsirtsis, Northwestern No. 12 Zach Neibert, Virginia Tech Hunter Stieber, Ohio State UNATT No. 7 Eric Grajales, Michigan No. 10 David Habat, Edinboro No. 14 Chris Castillo, Boise State Jake Short, Minnesota UNATT Destin McCauley, Nebraska UNATT Mike Kelly, Iowa Joe Bonaldi, Binghamton Gabe Morse, Northern Illinois Alex Griffin, Purdue Blake Roulo, George Mason UNATT Isaiah Tatum, Grand View
  3. If we're going to have an honorable mention you have to throw Cleveland on there 1xChamp, 3rd
  4. Eric Keith also won his state title in 2OT. They went out of bounds with 3 seconds left he is down and hits a text book escape to win it.
  5. Howe had a nice 2nd round win over Ryan Morningstar 3-0. Looks like we get to see Dake vs Taylor part 17(lost count)
  6. Coleman Scott Out of World Team Trials to Brandon Wright I just pulled up the brackets and it shows that Brandon Wright Defeated Coleman Scott first round via Injury.
  7. Well dake isn't even #2 in his weight in the US with Howe and Burroughs ahead of him, Cael losing a few times doesn't compare. He is a phenomenal wrestler but may have a tough road ahead of him getting past those 2.
  8. Is it bad I didn't read anything past the first sentence because he used the word "excepting"? I think the work you were looking for is accepting. DWilly said it was the best post ever too so there goes the value of his opinion.
  9. In more stunning news the NCAA championships final round will not be started at 125 but will start at 174. To say this has something to do with Dake being a possible 4 Timer is an understatement. It will be aired live on ESPN Saturday night a prime time spot!
  10. You guys are all amusing. We're talking about conference NOT the NCAA's. If he win's it next weekend, which I think he will no one will be talking about his missing Big 10 medal. 4 time finalist 3 champ is what should be talked about.
  11. I thought he walked off of the medal stand in the middle of the ceremony and threw his medal down. It was stripped because that goes against the "Olympic Spirit" Either way I don't agree with the wrestlers sending back their medals in protest, especially as the fight is to focus on the strengths of wrestling being in the olympics. On the other I cannot fathom what it would take for an Olympic medalist to sacrifice his/her achievement for others. All the things we hope we can teach our young wrestlers.
  12. If you're not living in the city the best way to describe it is between Downtown Chicago and Wrigley. But then again Chi town Hustler may consider Chesterton, Chicago haha.
  13. Something like 90% of state place winners have wrestled freestyle or greco at some point. So if you aren't part of the USA Wrestling family, you should be.
  14. Wow, I'm surprised at the response this post has gotten. The main reason I asked is because I only saw a few Perry Meridian wrestlers with there medals. The good side of this is if you want your whole team to get a medal then according to the IHSAA you can just buy one for $5. I think I would pay $5 for my medal haha.
  15. Haha Besides Merrillville, I'm pretty sure the boys from Lowell worked every team you just named. Might wanna expand your view of the Region. Everything south of 30 haha classic
  16. 152lbs: 3A Kyle Langenderfer, 2X State Champ Is coached by Tim Ortiz former Belmont palce winner and Brian Allen is coached by his brother Jason Hayes and James Leavell of Indiana as well. So maybe Indiana is going to win on some level haha
  17. How do the team medals work now? Do top 3 teams at State get medals now? If so is it just the wrestlers who make it to state, the 14 starters or whole team? Just curious how that side is working if someone could answer.
  18. I guess this weight will be up to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placers now haha
  19. Looks like the wrestling will only improve for next year with 7 of the Champions from this year to return. As the finals were unfolding I didn't realize how well the younger wrestlers were doing in the tournament. 13 returning finalists for next years tourney. 106, 113, 120 and 220 will return both finalists. Anyone know the state championships with the fewest amount of Senior State Champs? I'm curious now after seeing these results.
  20. Unfortunate conversation about a state champ. No one has said anything about the timely asthma attacks that Austin had the whole weekend
  21. http://www.ihsaa.org/portals/0/Flip%20Book/2012-13/wr/index.html#?page=0 Apparently being a 4 time state champ doesn't get anything but your name on the cover.
  22. Well I guess the state is placing more value on one state champion rather than 2 state qualifiers. Why is that such a bad thing to say? It's not like these teams are winning with just one state champion. They're having multiple wrestlers place and score big points.
  23. This could be true as well. Some people just turn it up when they get under those lights in Indy. I remember watching Fred Joseph lose semi-state 2 years in a row but completely dominate when got down to Indy. Either way in a few hours we'll have our answer. I think you can tell by my Red Devils picture that I'll be cheering for Ken in this one.
