  1. It sounds like there has been a sudden change at Indy. I hope everything is fine with Coach Yates as he has helped build the program up the past few years. http://athletics.uindy.edu/news/2008/12/9/WREST_1209081739.aspx?path=wrest
  2. Isn't bumping 103lbs to 105-108lbs addition too?
  3. Why weren't you so adamant when they eliminated 275lbs a couple years ago?
  4. Just keep Hasseman in line, that is a full time job in itself!
  5. You can decide for yourself which one is the "official" board. Here at IndianaMat, we will offer more than a messageboard. We will have all the state tournament brackets from most sectionals, to all regionals and semi-states. We will also offer weekly articles and interviews with the wrestlers and coaches throughout the state. We also will provide up-to-date rankings that are updated every couple days and they are also very detailed. That is just a taste of what is to come, we are in our infancy, but going at this full steam ahead.
  6. I think the main reason was the weight classes in the middle had huge gaps. I know I remember a lot of coaches complaining that there was too much space between weight classes from 119-152.
  7. If they drop to around 25% probably, but I highly doubt that the number will change very much.
  8. It should just load automatically, at least that is what it did for me. If not try http://indianamat.com/messageboard/index.php?;wap2
  9. The only way the lowest weight class will have very little forfeits is for it to be around the 140lb range. Teams will always struggle to fill the lowest weight, but at this point it time it is getting pretty ridiculous. When 1/3 of the teams do not field the weight, its time for careful evaluation and adjustment. Forfeits are not good for the sport and we need to find a happy median between letting the little guys have weight classes and at the same time try to have the least amount of forfeits. If the lowest weight class is raised to 105-108 its not going to magically make the number of forfeits drop, but it will help. As someone stated earlier, at what point do you determine that there is an issue, 20%, 25% , 30%, 35% forfeits?
  10. Unless one organization pays me a really large sum of money so I don't have to work, we can talk about any wrestling organization.
  11. According to USAW they will now be referred to as the Intermediate division. I guess they are getting politically correct!
  12. Here is the schedule for the day http://indianamat.com/files/TraicoffSchedule.pdf

  15. I sleep once in a while, but overall its overrated!
  16. Yes I did, now my work for tonight is find the perfect theme! I think that will be tougher!
  17. I like it too, you can't have much argument when you can see in front of your eyes those wins and losses.
  18. When Alex wants to go on bottom he's unstoppable, its just a matter of lighting that fire for him to explode off of the bottom. Its the same for most wrestlers, including me. Bottom isn't about technique, but more about attitude and confidence with getting the heck out of there.

  20. So.. hold the phone! if this is true then why didnt anything happen LAST year when he transferred. At face value that seems pretty shady considering it is now a year later I don't know very many specifics of what has transpired, so I don't want to comment. I can only say I had the same question you do about the situation. Someone with better knowledge of the situation can comment.

  22. If you look at the history of the weights classes and the lowest weight class in particular you will notice a trend of the lowest weight class being bumped up about every 20 years. It started at 95lbs, then to 98lbs and in the 80's it became 103lbs.
  23. Thanks, remember this is just the beginning. We will do more and more as time goes on.
