The 4 point nearfall in college can really bust open a match. I didn't see the match, but a few tilts or turns from legs can make a close match into a tech REALLY fast.

Cummings was smaller than Rooks, but he wasn't that small. He was just as strong as Rooks and even guys like Becker. He'll be fine, he's a tough kid and coming back 6 months post op from ACL surgery to try to be the 4th Al Smith 4-timer is pretty impressive. -

Due to some shenanigans the outstanding wrestler is given to the person with the most pins in least amount of time in the championship bracket. However, this year...a runner-up had that criteria. Thus a little discussion took place and Jessie Lawson ended up with the award. -

Cummings didn't have to wrestle his first tournament back at the Al Smith. I give him huge props for it. Rooks is a great wrestler and the state finals at this weight are going to be dynamite.
