warsawwrestling
So what penalty is there if a wrestler loses more than 1.5% per week? At an in season meet there is no penalty, it's just not a qualified weigh in. Kid can still wrestle that meet at whatever weight they make weight for. I'm not saying this is right or wrong. I have always said if we want to get real and enforce things do the hydration test at sectionals by a panel of 2-3 people.
randalllynch
yes it does, it does not include that weigh-in as a qualified weigh-in if they lose more than the 1.5%

As long as it says 6 qualifying then your good.
1prouddad
So what penalty is there if a wrestler loses more than 1.5% per week?Penalty per IHSAA may not be as much as physical and mental to a wrestler. I say this cause I seen it 1st hand and heard it from a father of the wrestler. Wrestler one week ago weighed in at 114-115(not verified by official from what I've been told). Same wrestler tried to cut weight to get back to 106(which he didn't make). Father said had he even made weight, he wouldn't have been able to wrestle due to he was vomiting and dizzy(cutting to mucH AND not properly cutting weight) Edited January 22, 2017 by 1prouddad
