andy hobbs
Looking for rule in book. Do Medical Forfeit before match starts count for seeding or record?
DLuther
Do not think so. Only injury defaults during a match count as losses.
MCKAJC
I'd like to understand this better also. If you default out of a match due to injury before the match starts, that does not count as a loss?
MattM
From previous seasons discussion on this topic my understanding of the situation is the in match injury forfeit does count as a loss, but the subsequent Medical Forfeits occuring through the later rounds of the tournament does not count against the wrestler. Y2CJ41
If you suffer an injury during the match and default during that match it counts on your record. No other matches that you default will count on your record. If you suffer an injury, finish a match and then default the rest of the matches, the first default counts on your record. I have received that information from the IHSAA commissioners.
