These picks look really good based on what I have seen so far.

From NA who could also be in the mix as a dark horse:

106 - Dalton Ericson (dropped from 113 this week)

126 - Romero Bradford (big win over BS at Jeff Classic)

138 - Anthony Strong (4 and 1 at C-town Duals)

195 - Dalton Mowery (4th Jeff Classic)

220 - Patrick Landrum (only loss to sectional opponent was to Hurley)

Floyd kids appear to be really tough based on their results last week!

  • 3 weeks later...

It is a snow day down here in the south and many of us are working from home, so I figured I would bump this to get revised/new/headstrong opinions now that several of the conference tournaments affecting this sectional are done.  Unfortunately there have also been some injuries.

Team and Individual Championships should be fantastic this year!

Early Jeffersonville sectional predictions

*UPDATED*

138: Another class that is shaking. Paden now here, Crase down and Sauer and Gray in. Houser from Floyd is a guy to keep an eye on.

1. Ezra Paden Corydon Central  MOVED FROM 32    Heard from a wrestler that Paden won over Crase last week.

2. Yancey Crase New Washington  DOWN

3. Josh Sauer Jeffersonville  IN

4. Dillon Gray Charlestown  IN

The Crase and Paden match was awesome to watch lots of movement and action from both guys. I think final score was 7-6 Paden should be a very good rematch!

Possibly a good move by Paden.  Goes from 2nd or 3rd at 32 in sectionals and to possibly not making it out of regionals with Nobblitt and Madison in the mix.  He's got a good chance of being sectional champ at 38 and may be able to hang with Herrin from Jennings at regionals.

I also heard from a reliable source Troutman is having trouble getting a release statement from his Gyno Dr.  DonnieBaker said he's now wearing more than an elbow pad.  That's not exactly how he put it, I had to clean it up a bit.

Champs:

FC - 5

CC - 3

NA - 2

CH - 2

NW - 1

Jeff - 1

Team champ determined by 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths

Borin'. For about 5:45 nothing happened but an extended hand to the face and a lot of "runnin' hard to score when you can't get your hands on someone. Smart choice to jump up to 138, 132 is stacked and a third place at Regional will be the end of a season at 38 he has a chance to be second or even a champ at 38.  That makes a better end result.

Big Changes at 126-Deleon from Jeff(who is listed at 132) wrestled 126 today and defeated Romarro Bradford from New Albany.

Well as I said in the Jennings County Sectional thread, unless some people are shifting weight up or down 132 will end up loaded with quality wrestlers at each level of the tournament series.  Several good wrestlers will end up meeting in the advancement round of sectional and regional as a result of the talent pool of this weight, not to mention the meat-grinder that will be waiting for some of them come semi-state.  While 126 and 138 has some good wrestlers it not quite as deep as 132, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone else shifting weight before the seed meeting.

Against New Albany more than just the Jeff 132 pounder dropped a weight class. With all these post about the weight management questions hopefully the paperwork is inline.  Good thing the pioneers got a new caption at the helm.  Cookie might ask to see the proof.

So now does Jeff pull an BNL and get higher seeds because  no common opponents?  They may be the new favorites.  Where's CRed when you need him?  I personally miss him and HighC.  Good conversation on the WWW.

I'm sure all teams in the sectionals are up to the challenge to upset the new favorite.

The bigger they are, the harder they FALL

Good luck to all...
