170  .822 winning pct.  152 .816  132 .808  120 .782  138 .770  160 .767  126 .752  106 .744  182 .742  285 .731  145 .700  195 .686  113 .685  220 .619

A little different way to look at it......  I took the records of the theoretical top 4 (best head to head record for first round matchups) and calculated winning percentage.  I also listed the best record that is NOT in the top 4 at each weght class.  170 definitely looks the strongest, and 220 is by far the weakest (one SS representative will probably be sub-.500).

Miller (113) and Kell (138) helped themselves by finishing first and second respectively last week to avoid facing opponents with 19-5 records.  Someone will be a tough out at those two weight classes.  And you have two great records on the outside looking in at 126.

Weight W L Pct. Next

170 104 8 0.929 32-7

132 114 17 0.870 30-6

160 118 18 0.868 21-7

182 111 17 0.867 24-8

138 126 20 0.863 19-5

120 123 20 0.860 21-6

285 93 16 0.853 20-9

152 119 21 0.850 28-7

106 111 21 0.841 22-7

113 104 24 0.813 19-5

126 105 25 0.808 35-7, 32-9

145 90 28 0.763 24-12

195 90 30 0.750 27-11

220 86 40 0.683 19-8

Good luck (and good health) to all wrestlers!

very cool to look at it that way...probably more accurate just looking at the "top 4". miller did help himself as you said. kell on the other hand, he doesnt care about seeds. he goes in and attacks whoever it is in front of him. he went in last year as a 4 seed and took out the champ from south dearborn sectional (blake wood). he is arguably in the top 3 in that group of 8. he beat tipton fairly easily. tipton and humbert are very close and 1-1 against each other this year. the only one i know that is better than him in that group is cox, now thats only because i havent seen the freshman phenom yet. if he makes it too the finals, he will face cox. if he beats cox, then i will be impressed. until then, that record means nothing and it wont bother kell either lol. lastly, wow 220 is very weak...so weak, i think i might win that myself and i would only have to cut about 3 pounds lmao

220 is down this year for sure, but do not think that Moore for East Central isn't good because of his record. He is solid and should make the finals easy. Miller and Ramahe will battle it out on the other side but I still believe Miller wins this weight class. Just depends if he shows up to wrestle or not

:)ya much better to look at the THEORETICAL top 4 because the others are just wannabes. whose theoretical opionion are we using. top four is not 1-2 seeds  from both sec. in most wht classes. Celebrate eight they deserve it.

U got a point too. How bout this. Use my predictions and calculate those top 4. Cause u know that will be most accurate lol

Anyone have any guesses or predictions?  ???

This was the first post under this subject this year. Now we 8 possibilities at each weight and 4 will move on. Stats and predictions are cool, and interesting. But at this point in the season, the answer is not the kid with the most technique and size or winning percentage. It is utterly up to who wants it most. We have all seen the #1 go down to the #4 and then 4 go on to be#1 on the podium and we make the comment "I cant believe he lost to him/her". But it happens every year during the state series all up and down this state. This year will be no different. Once again, it will not always be the size and skill of the dog in the fight, yet will be the size of the fight in the dog. One thing I have learned over the years is not to take anyone for granted. Don't overlook anyone and always expect the unexpected.

I pray all you guys/girls stay healthy and blessed. Thanks for entertaining your fans!

The Franklin County/ South Dearborn sectional always seems to advance more wrestlers than the Tri/Shenandaoh sectional does. Based on my predictions, I have Franklin County sectional advancing 40 and the Tri sectional advancing 16.....now that seems pretty lopsided but I think that's within 5 for both sectionals

absolutely! while there has been many, 3 come to mind real fast. the first major upset i remember is in 2009. Richmonds eric noe was a 4 seed and knocked off 1 seed nolan feller from franklin county. More recent was 2 years ago. Connersville was a powerhouse that sent 11 wrestlers into regionals. only 4 made it out. upsets included a very good 2 seed 33-7 bobby frasur getting pinned by centervilles 25-10 austin milliron as well as a very intimidating looking beast at 2 seed 35-9 brady bolos also getting pinned by baby face bryce robinson with record of 25-12 of centerville. predictions are fun, records can look great, but there is a reason they do have to wrestle the matches.

Great examples! I caught my self saying, I can't believe Feller got beat by that kid.

I know the noe's personally and went to school with Eric's mom since elementary so I followed their careers. I say careers because 2 years ago, I thought history was going to repeat itself. Feller was again a 1 seed going against another 4seed noe, Eric's little brother David. He gave him a good match but just couldn't pull off the same upset his older brother had just a few years prior.
