FINAL TEAM SCORES/BRACKETS

PUEBLO, Colo.- Freshman wrestler Josh Kieffer is an All-American, following a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships Saturday afternoon.

Kieffer opened Day two of Nationals against Augustana's Cody Lensing (18-5). The Greyhound freshman fell 9-3 to Lensing, putting him on the left side of the bracket fighting for third place.

In the day's second match, Kieffer (23-11) wrestled Findlay's Ben Sergent (34-10), who had previously beaten him twice during the regular season. Sergent bested Kieffer via a major decision at the Midwest Classic, and then won in tiebreaker two, 3-2, over the UIndy freshman at Feb. 11's dual meet. Kieffer fell to Sergent, via a pin in 1:47, to send him into the fifth/sixth place bout.

Kieffer faced Kenny Trumbetta (35-3) in the fifth place bout, falling 4-1 to take sixth in the nation in NCAA Division II.

Kieffer's win total is good for 12th-best all-time by a UIndy freshman, and he becomes just the second Greyhound rookie to be an All-American (Shane Perkey, 4th, 2005)

Barrq, It seems so long ago those two wrestled on that Friday night, but at times it feels like it was just yesterday. We are both very blessed to to have the opportunity to continue watching our boys wrestle at the next level. Congrats to Travis and to you and your wife.
