I really need lineups from these 2 teams for the rankings.  If anyone from the program could email them to me at rankingsguy@hotmail.com it'd be much appreciated.  Also, I'd like to see individual result from LN's dual with Warren Central.  If anyone has any of this information, please post on this thread or email me.  Thanks

INDIANAPOLIS ? Warren Central maximized a pair of losses, strangely enough, at the start and finish of the Warriors? Nov. 23 dual wrestling meet against 19th-ranked visiting Lawrence North to pull out the upset victory by the slightest of margins, 30-29.

And the 2010-11 season may be but a few days old, but Warren Central is already threatening to turn second-year coach and 2002 alum Danny Williams into an old man based on the Warriors? cardiac-style endings to their first two meets.

In a surprise second-place finish at the annual season-opening Capital City Classic at Perry Meridian won three days earlier by the No. 2 host Falcons, Warren Central eked out runner-up honors in the eight-team event by just a half-point over Beech Grove. On this night, it was a Herculean effort by 140-pound Trezdon Seward to not get pinned that saved the day for the Warriors in a ridiculously tight match that featured eight lead changes.

The match started at 145, where Warren?s 11th-ranked Kyle Reidling certainly didn?t want to suffer a major decision to LN?s No. 6 Matt Rattay, a seventh-place finisher at last year?s state finals. But Reidling?s lopsided 20-6 loss ? all six of his points came on escapes ? was one point shy of a technical fall, which would have given the Wildcats an extra team point.

Fast-forward to the final bout of the evening at 140. Seward clearly was overmatched, surrendering near-fall points on his back on three separate occasions, including 3-pointers in both the first and third periods against LN?s Jordan Johnson, the state?s 13th-ranked 125-pounder who was wrestling up.

But Seward fought mightily to fend off the pin, and his efforts in another one-sided individual loss paid off big-time when the final buzzer sounded and the home crowd went bonkers in realization of the team victory.

?Warren was tougher and more technically sound than us in some pivotal matches,? said LN coach Jared Williams. ?I credit their kids and their staff for taking the match from us ? it?s obvious they have worked hard as a team.

?We have a ways to go, but we?ll continue to work.?

In between those two huge battles, the lead went back and forth at will.

Collin McAtee got a third-period pin at 152 to give the Warriors their first lead at 6-4, but Lawrence North answered with a pin at 171 by Brandon Douthitt to go back up 10-9. After Dyrek Chowning?s 6-2 decision at 189 put Warren Central back on top at 12-10, LN?s Jeremy Haskett responded with a 6-5 decision at 215 for a 13-12 LN advantage.

Twelfth-ranked heavyweight Kyle White then got a pin late in the second period for an 18-13 Warriors? lead, but the Wildcats? top-ranked 103-pounder, Nathan Boston, answered with a second-period pin to put LN back up 19-18. Warren Central then pieced together back-to-back decisions from 112 Dominique Shelby and 119 Gerald Dycus before a fall by Robert Boston at 125 gave LN the lead once again at 25-24.

Two more decisions by the home team at 130 (Shabaka Johns) and 135 (Collin Poynter) then set the stage for Seward?s non-folly at 140 that preserved the win.

Next up for Warren Central is a Nov. 27 trip to Lafayette Jefferson for the Showdown Duals. Lawrence North, meanwhile, will complete in a loaded dual-meet tourney Dec. 4 at Franklin Community.
