Richey vs Barlow

i would have to state an opinion and say that the ref should not have awarded 2 points from that cradle scramble and should not have awarded the point from the coaches for arguing the call, it was pretty cheap. if i were the bc coach, i'd be pretty tick too. JUST MY OPINION THO.

All I can say about it was something pretty blatent was done to his eyr to get Brannigan to turn loose of his signature craddle! His eye was looking pretty bad for it to be inadvertant! Good job Brannigan! I think richey found himself in unfamilliar territory and did what he could to get out of a bad situation.

Did you see the match? The cradle was broken before that happened, and you can mess up someones eye pretty bad unintentionally, sorry to tell you.  Regardless, both kids wrestled hard and it was physical from the start.  Congrats Barlow and Richey,  I see both of them advancing this saturday.

Not only saw it but have it on DVD.

1.  Cradle was no where near broken!

2. Richey felt forward to find Barlow forehead, slid his hand up (Barlow was forehead down) found the eye socket and drove with rotation to his eye.

3. This was the third eye gouge by Richey, thought the first two inadvertent till I saw the third.

4. Guarantee that if BC Coach (1st rate and quality coach) see the tape Richey will have a tough week. He was 180 degrees out and could not have seen it. I know if he had no way he would have argued at all.  Richey got an escape point, instead of loosing by fall for a cheap and dirty move.

5. For those who defend Richey, what do you think of his actions at the awards ceremony.

Don't think he is a dirty wrestler......just not used to loosing. To win at any cost is too lose the big match.

I can't say that I saw him on the podium.  I am not trying to call you out to see if you would actually post it, I really want to see the video, and if I am wrong I apologize for the post.  I'm just saing from my vantage point I didn't see anything wrong and neither did the people I was sitting with.

Yes. Very sorry it came to something like that! My cousins boy who won the 215 3rd place match was bad mouthed by a fan and when one of our coaches asked him not to address his wrestler like that  and went to the restroom the guy followed him in there to fight. Police escorted him out of the building. He was allowed to come back in ti appoligize, and then had to leave again. Should have donr that to Spencer Brooks too! I hate bad sportsmanship! I haerd it was Colletts dad but dont know for sure! Anyone else see that and know who it was for sure?

I take no offense, Barlow is one of my sons best friends. I was beside the mat and had a good view and still gave Richey the benefit of the doubt. He and his brother came to BS to workout during the Freestyle season. Seemed like a good kid. He made a mistake on the mat (mistake is a very kind way to put it). But his actions on the podium made him out as classless! I will get the video posted if shown how!

Let it go! Posting any video at this time will solve nothing.

At worst, Quincy made a poor decision. He will hopefully learn from this situation. Remember he is just a freshman.

At best, he he being called out for something that was unintentional.

Personally, I know Quincy can be a very intense wrestler and yes he doesn't like losing. But isn't that how we want our athletes to feel? At this point I am sure he has thought about the situation and has learned from it.

Give the kid a break for now and see if things are different in the future.

Coach Vic

Mr. Fuderich is there anything that you won't comment on?  I doubt that you have seen Quincy Richey wrestle more than two different dates with this past Saturday being the second.  I have never seen anyone get on here and say unkind things about Holden.  You consistantly wish to stir up events about others like Joe Arthur, Richey's and even your 215's episode with Collet.

People on this forum don't need to know the scuttle and you simply continue to churn it.

You have no valid information that Quincy intentionally did anything and to assume so is simply not fair.  You are an adult and the Sandman1962 posts give way to a youthful mind.

Stick to what you know which in my opinion is information on your own son if you feel that you should share.

The Richey's are great assets to the sport of wrestling.  Don't know many kids that have raw technique and that study wrestling as much as they do.  Quincy learned from his experience on Saturday and so did his coach.  The kid got robbed.

Give it a rest.  I will not comment on the Arthur / Gill post because I think Ron Arthur said it best.

What do you mean "The Kid got robbed"? I was there and can't allow you to take a great win from Barlow with a comment like that!

Richey vs. Barlow was a great match.  Richey is excellent on his feet.  Barlow had wrestled better comp. and more experienced.  All I can say is WOW, it was a good match.  Only a rematch would settle it.  although there was a few contorversial calls made by the ref. that got him booed.

Only 1 wrestler was on his back in that match (Richey).  Digging at a class kid's eye to get out of a cradle, that as far as I know nobody has gotten out of, is not something that should just be thrown by the wayside.  Barlow felt that his vision for life was at risk and didn't even care about the point he gave up ,which made it 7-6 for Richey, nor did he wait for a whistle from the ref!! He got straight up off the mat and walked to his coach.  Being a freshman has nothing to do with that.  I'm pretty sure there is alot of freshman that would not resort to that!!
