Indiana started the first day of Cadet freestyle action with 28 wrestlers, but only three  survived. All three wrestlers are currently undefeated and have already received a bye. Day two will start tomorrow with a weigh-in at 7:30am and wrestling beginning at 9:30am(both Central time).  Here is a rundown of the remaining wrestlers and what they will need to do to place in the tournament.
Paul Petrov- 112lbs Pool A
Wrestlers left in his pool: 6
Record: 5-0 with a bye
Who is next: Vito Pesone of Pennsylvania
What he needs to place: Petrov needs to win his next match to assure himself of All-American status
Notes: Three wrestlers have losses heading into the next round.  Two of them will wrestle eachother and the other one will wrestle Petrov. Others in this pool to watch for are Iowa’s Jack Hathaway and Dominick Malone of Connecticut.
Kyle Ayersman- 112lbs Pool B
Wrestlers left in his pool: 6
Record: 5-0 with a bye
Who is next: Jered Cortez of Illinois
What he needs to place: Ayersman will need to win one more match
Notes: Cortez won the 119lbs Greco-Roman title and dropped down to 112lbs for freestyle. This will be a really tough match to start the day. Two wrestlers left have a loss and they will face eachother in the next round. Due to having a bye Ayersman is behind in points, so he will need to win one more match to attain All-American status.
Mitch Sliga- 189lbs Pool A
Wrestlers left in his pool: 5
Record: 4-0 with a bye
Who is next: Bye round then Matthew Hoare of Pennsylvania or Hashem Omari of Missouri
What he needs to place: Make weight tomorrow morning
Notes: Two wrestlers in his pool have losses and they both face wrestlers that are undefeated. The other two wrestlers left, Omari and Mickey Pelfrey of Iowa will be Sliga’s biggest hurdles to winning his pool. Omari went undefeated at the Cadet Duals while Pelfrey gave Sliga one of his stiffest challenges in Greco-Roman.
