Mattyb
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is almost here. Which teams will be crowned Heartland USA National duals champion? In the Elementary division Minnesota Storm coming down to defend their coveted title. Ohio Grapplers have been waiting 363 days, so far, for a rematch. IKWF Gold in pursuit of getting back to that top spot. Indiana Gold after a great first showing last year comes back this year with a new group trying to claim a title that alluded them last year. Team Missouri United comes back taunting mostly State Champs this year in what looks like their best team ever. Team Iowa is hungry to reclaim their traditional wrestling dominance and “Calm the Storm” that has been brewing in Minnesota. Kansas seems to have every kid in their State wanting to be on their teams as I’m sure they look to rise in the ranks towards the championships. South Dakota created a qualifier for their teams this year and looks to get back to showing the Nation what South Dakota wrestling is all about. Nebraska made the Gold bracket for the first time last year and like any other competitor their not satisfied. Nebraska had wrestle offs right after the State tournament…State Champ vs State Champ battling to make the number one team. Texas, North Dakota and Greater Heights MO have their eyes on Gold that has been alluding them in the past. But wait just one minute---- There are new teams coming this year that want a piece of the action. Team PA travels all the way to try an continue a streak of National duals to their credit. They will be tested by the veteran teams from Heartland. Colorado wants to test the waters of the Heartland from where they had been taking their teams---Heartland teams won’t disappoint them. Kentucky has jumped on board with their little wildcats, to show the kids from the Mountains, have a few things to say about being a champion. In the Middle School division the competition will be great as each team tries to claim the first Heartland USA Middle School title. IKWF Gold did this in the first Elementary Nationals 6 years ago and I’m sure they want to set their name in history this year as well. Looks like they will have a tough time accomplishing this with the Indiana Mat Mafia, Missouri United, MN Storm, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kentucky, Iowa and Nebraska all saying--- “Wait one minute that’s our piece of History to claim”. There will be some awesome re-matches from Danville coming in the future. See the link below for Pool play on Saturday. There will be 2 additional rounds for MS on Saturday. These will be significant in the final placing of Gold and Silver brackets. I will have this info for you on Friday at weigh-ins so you understand the schedule. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cxgfgdw2xufjem8/1PKje8xyJa From Fred Franklin (Tournament Director)
