  1. I have had some people say to me that my daughter should be wrestling girls not boys(mostly in other states), but there isn't a lot of opportunity for her to wrestle girls here in Indiana. If there were the competition in the girls division like in the boys then i know she would be fine with that, but theres not. We enter any girls divisions that we can find, but again there isn't but very few girls. Ex: went to Border Wars nationals the last 2 years and entered both boys and girls and for $20.00 she got to wrestle 1 girl. Went to Tulsa this past weekend and only 5 girls out of 1300 competed and Demi was one of them. We just figure she will keep wrestling boys and by the time she is in high school there will be a girls division if not she will already be used to wrestling the boys. I think it would be very exciting to get more girls involvement in ISWA.
  2. great tournament. demi got to wrestle 4 times and two kids were from illinois. got a really nice trophy and some good competition. She will definitely go back next year. Great location to do stuff after the competition was over.
  3. I wanted to say I'm proud of both Demi and Aiden. They both work extremely hard. When they wrestle I know its going t be a good match. They really battle on the mat, but our friends off . Aiden will be a hard one to beat next year. He will still be a bantam. Demi will move up to intermediate.
  4. GREAT JOB CJ! nobody mentioned you winning it at novice 65, but I knew you would be hard to beat. ;D
  5. The girls list will be released the night of the sixth. They took it off due to there were mostly boys signed up for the girls. I believe they were trying to figure out which were boys and which were girls.
  6. my kid wrestled in the girls tournament and the boys. the girls started at ten. boys was supposed to start at nine. we were completely finished wrestling four matches in the girls and the boys still hadn't started. They told me they couldnt put brackets up because it would have taken 3 hours to put bout numbers on. they had five hours after it was supposed to start. they should have stopped weigh ins at 8 but i think it was like eleven or twelve. it didnt seem like they had too many parents. I think yhey tried it was just very unorganized. i would have left but we had four matches before it started. i had to literally go find a kid that was fifty and go tell somebody to write out the sheet or i think we owuld have left at midnight. ???
  7. good competiton. even out of state wrestlers. 15 in bracket. out of there by 2 p.m. really well ran ;D
  8. i would agree this was the best tournament I had been to this year. They had true seconds. and we were out of there by 2pm. everyone wrestled around five times each on the same mat. people say you cant wrestle for true seconds or you,ll be there all night. Red cobra proved that wrong. I hope the rest of the tournaments I go to this year are ran so well. Thanks for a great day!
  9. if there is only so many per bracket why did ben davis' have thirty kids in one bracket. is it just based on what each tournament wants to do. Iliked the way ben davis did it.
  10. some of the brackets sunday were mind boggling. there were three brackets in my daughters weight class. the other two brackets din't have two team qualifiers in them or even one. i wish now i would've let her wrestle in the team qualifier, but she hadnt wrestled very long and i just put her in the beginners. she took first out of thirty.
  11. my daughter wrestled the winner of her bracket in the second round. she lost by one point. she had three pins and an 11-0 win. the kid that got second got pinned in the second period. She would have got second if given the opportunity. instead she left with third.
  12. Thanks for the information. we used the cap at franklin. I read on the usgwa at the tournaments no hair cap has to be worn. I thought that was weird considering the topics that people brought up about a disadvantage on grabbing behind the neck.
  13. I understand the reasoning for the cap. I just didn't know if there is a specific rule. she doesnt even like me to put her hair up, but if she has to wear the cap to wrestle she will.
