    As a legs guy I can tell you that the majority of the time a wrestler has legs in and is not trying to turn their opponent, they get in trouble and get reversed and usually took to their back. You have to give the opponent some credit for not going to their back when someone throws legs in. It is no different than a spiral ride or other pinning combination.

    I always considered scrambles on the mat the most exciting part of wrestling. The offensive wrestler has to stop the defensive position before they can even begin to work their offense, if the bottom position stays in motion it keeps the match exciting. Folkstyle is about who has control and who can take control, it is inherently different from Freestyle that is directly focused towards offense (hence when action stops, put them on their feet). So I like the rewarding someone who can ride, isn't that the reason the last tiebreaker is the way it is, keep control and you win or lose control and you lose!

    He was never in trouble against some very good opponents.

    I liked the arena and even the the quick warm-up area with a mat just outside the entrance to the floor. Would be nice to get a larger staging area for on deck & in the whole wrestlers on each end of the floor. But all in all pretty nice. Anyone have any idea how/if we can order the t-shirts they were selling at the arena? They were sold out pretty quickly.

    My vote for a team New Albany's Phil Thrasher and Jim Binkley They have and in Bink's case still are benefitting kids lives since the 50's

    9 Juniors left in the tournament, 3 I have seen Kennedy, Kuhn, and Rigney, are very good. I do conceed your point that there are some very good freshman and sophmore still out there as well (Boston/Micic come to mind quickly). But all this just makes my point stronger, 106 will be very tough next year. No offense taken

    Look for 106 to be very tough next year, there are a lot of Juniors in the weight class this year, odds are most will not move up for their senior year.

    Say what you like, and categorize as you please, but any freshman who is still in the tournament deserves to be on the list as a "Top in-coming Freshman 2011/12".

    Because of the difference in weigh-in procedures people wait to the last minute to see what weight to put the wrestlers in. No room for error in this tournament.

    This has happened to me several times this year, usually on posts with a lot of activity.

    the 70s/80s where definately a one mistake world, but I think it prepared our group for life very well. I remember two quotes from my coaches to this day from that time, 1) "You will always remember the matches you lost" (Jim Binkley); and 2) "What did you think was going to happen" (Phil Thrasher)

    Some of us wrestled in a time when only 2 advanced, no wrestle backs, and larger regionals. So many good kids now (who will get to state) in several weight classes that wouldn't even get to semi-state. Not that I would want to go back to that, by no means!
