Yes great job. Having your son around has helped elevate the level of our room. It was good to see Josiah and Tyler Conley (avon) battle it out for the title. We are proud of both boys.

Thank you for all which participated. All wrestlers were very well behaved. All clubs that participated were very classy. Coaches, it was awesome to see your dedication to your begginers. Wrestling was to start at noon. Wrestling began at 1:00 (We has some stragglers ). We will tweek for next year. Once we started, mats stayed full until we finishd at 5:00 pm. Most kids received 3 or 4 matches, on full mats. There was an young lady, who was injured. Does anyone have any information on her? Our thoughts and prayers are with this young wrestler. We hope to see you all next year!

If you have sent a request for a spread sheet (roster) or have not gotten a conformation after you have sent a roster, please do not assume that we have received them. We have had some trouble with the email. Please note that we have until Wed @ 9:00 pm to do both. It is not too late to come. A quick reminder. Avon is having a beginners tourney this weekend. It will be held at the new state of the art field house in Avon High School. We are doing four man round robin brackets. Each child will be matched with the 3 most similar in weight (In the same division). There will be all full mats, with adult refs. All mats will have its own full sized scoreboard. We have a noon start time. You will be able to do church and wrestle in the same day! All wrestlers must check in by 11:30 or be scratched (no refunds). Due to weather, we are extending the deadline for fax entries until Wed. at 9 p.m. Come and let your beginners experience what it will feel like when they get to the big stage! For fax packets go to www.avonwrestling.org and click on the beginners tourney link to the left. Please do so a.s.a.p.

The tourney is 3 weeks away. Don't miss out. We will have full mats. Matches will be officiated by the High School coaches and licensed refs. Each mat will have a large score board. Awesome job Franklin. We took 15 kids. Most got 4 or 5 matches and all were out of there by 2:30! As far as the refs...They did fine. It is much more easy to ref matches agianst to under control wrestlers. But with youth wrestling (especially with the little ones), you have a lot of flipping and flopping. Even an experienced ref could become confused or miss a call. The biggest thing this time of year should be mat time, and we got it. Franklin is 1st class all the way. We will not miss a Franklin hosted tourney. We look forward to the Ironman! -

Thank you to Juan and all the very nice folks at Southmont. There were 6 rounds of wrestling. We were out of there by 3:00. 1st rate duel tourney. I would recommend this tourney each and every year. Great job to Avon Gold. The boys finished 12 and 1 for the duel meet season.

Trey, Brock, and Ben were all awesome. Tyson Lane also did very well at 40. Midwest Warriors had a very young team with a lot of heart. Many were not 100 % (feeling rough the night before). A good time was had by all. The kids all made new friends and had a ball. Which is what wrestling is all about. Great to see 6 Washington Township, Hendricks County (Avon) boys on this team. Thank you to Marci and all the coaches.

We will be participating in a dual meet season along with freestyle, folkstyle, and greco. We will continue to with sign ups, for the first two weeks of practice. See our site for practice schedule www.avonwrestling.org.

Avon wrestling club is having sign ups tonight at Avon High School from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. $85 for beginners (2 days a week) and $110 for advanced (3 days a week). Fees include a practice pack, USA card, and instruction through Freestyle State. Visit www.avonwrestling.org for further details.
