  1. Somebody at Peru give updates as the day goes on, please. Just winners by weight class each round would be nice.
  2. There seems to be many of us unable to get the broadcast feed. If anyone has time to list the first round winners, and then as they come in the ticket round winners it would be greatly appreciated.
  3. There are apparently some of us that are unable to get anything on the internet site for viewing. If someone who has that or is at the Coliseum could update on this site, it would be greatly appreciated. We have the first full round through 112 only. thanks.
  4. My parents moved to Indiana while I was in the army so I had to come here for college. When I got out I started teaching and coaching football. I had never seen a wrestling match. That first Christmas I was asked to help with an 8 team tourney. Two years later I began a 26 year wrestling coaching career.
  5. Ft Wayne SS 103 - Garretson (1) 112 - Gonzales (1) 119 - Troy (2) 125 - Bevans (1) 130 - Fiechter (2) 135 - Goodnight (2) 140 - Schwartz (2) 145 - Hiple (2) 152 - Hogendobler (3) 160 - Lefever (2) 171 - Bratcher (1) 189 - Waikel (2) 215 - Coursen-Carr (3) 285 - West (2)
  6. While I cannot come up with anything better - barring wrestle-backs - there is another wrestler who gets a possible bad deal here: Dylan Green. By virtue of winning his own regional he earned the right to NOT face someone of Chalifant's calibre in the first round. Reality is that these two young men were quite likely to both be state qualifiers and now, without either of them losing, it is not possible.
  7. Probably very few of you are old enough to remember, but when I first got involved in Indiana wrestling, the early 70's, we had huge sectionals. The first two rounds, to get down to eight, were held on Wednesday evening. There were no wrestle backs at all. Top two to regionals and regional champ only to state. I think we could do the super-sectionals like that now and keep semi-state and state the same. (Of course, I would favor wrestle-backs at all levels, but that is a different problem.)
  8. Austin Shepherd, 130 from Western, withdrew before semi-state with and injury after making it last year.
  9. This old coach (from Western) has known coach Atwood for years and I couldn't be happier for his success. A class act in every respect.
  10. The "coaches trophy" goes to the team that "wins" the state individual tourney under the old scoring rules.
