  7. The Perry Triple Dual is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 11 at Perry Meridian HS. All of these teams are very tough with PM still holding the advantage (my opinion). Remember also that New Pal defeated Roncalli in last year's triple dual. Go Rebels!
  8. Should be an awesome triple dual at Perry Meridian on Saturday. #2 Perry Meridian #10 Roncalli #20 New Palestine Avon (unranked but very tough)
  9. Thanks to Southmont for competing on short notice. Not sure of final standings, I left early. I do know that Indy Southside finished third behind Avon and Fighting Irish and in front of Mason (OH), New Castle, and Southmont.

  13. Anyone know who will be at the Showdown Duals at Lafayette Jeff this weekend?
  14. Congratulations to St. Mark Catholic School student athlete Joshua Fryar who captured 2nd place at the USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Josh defeated wrestlers from Iowa and Wisconsin before losing in the finals to a wrestler from Nevada. Joshua had earlier captured CYO City and ISWA Indiana State titles! Josh is a member of Indy Southside Rebels wrestling club. Thanks also to the Perry Meridian coaches who helped Josh in Iowa!
  15. 98 (110 normal) 112 1980 College - 118 (130 normal) Current - YIKES!
  16. I saw the match and I could not believe the call. Tucker was assessed a penalty point for "an agressive collar tie" then was DQ for "headbutting". All I saw was a simultaneous shot by both wrestlers who collided with their heads. Roncalli folks reviewed the tapes and saw nothing so they will be sent to the IHSAA. I doubt the call will be changed and unfortunately a bad call will end Tucker's season. Jake a very raw but did an outstanding job in his first season of wrestling! Hopefully he can compete at Team State!
  17. This was in the semi-finals so Wright is still alive.
  18. Justin Kieffer over Brandon Wright 9-3!
  19. Damon's pin at 189 was HUGE! Here is a kid that is MANY pounds underweight and has only been wrestling for a couple of years, but he makes up for his shortcomings with a big heart and determination. He comes from a great family of educators and is a great kid. Coach Peck always has the Trojans ready and they are very tough. Best of luck to the Rebels and Trojans as they move forward this season.
  20. The IHSAA web site has nearly all of the individual match scores, including the Seymour regional.
  21. The ramifications of the seeding fiasco at 125 will be felt again at regionals. Kieffer and Wright are again in the same bracket!
  22. Oh brother! : I have watched Cathedral and Roncalli several times this season and I made an educated guess on the outcome. Maybe the Rebels used my prediction as motivation! The Rebel lineup was provided earlier in the topic, I only responded. This is the same lineup which the Rebels have used all season and which has been discussed many times on this forum. I am, first and foremost, a wrestling fan and I have been since I first strapped on the headgear in 1969. I am tied to the Rebel program but I also support the Irish and I follow both teams very closely.
  23. Right! :'( Remember, the Rebels were without Bartley who would have won by pin at 189 if necessary. Albertson is a 163 pound sophomore with only two years of wrestling experience and he still won by decision at 189. Masengale is a senior who hadn't wrestled since 8th grade and he still beat Stokes at HWT. It is a bummer that the Irish lost Wright, Roytek, and McGinley to transfer. But the Rebels are on the rise with only five senior starters on a roster of over 40 and a JV team which is 29-2 (plus four tournament titles) in the past two seasons including a 56-16 victory over Cathedral last night.
