  1. that is true, you wanna get the best 4 kids out, but still, lets say someone is in a very tough reginal, hmm, lets say rochester 215 per say... where there are arguably 4 guys good enough to compete at state, and one of them takes 4th, like in Gallegos's case... so because he was in a solid weight class where at any givin day number 2-4 in that sectional/regional could lose to the other, he doesn't even deserve a chance? when at semi-state he comes out and takes 3rd? the reason the good wrestler got a bad draw is either him or another good wrestler lost at regionals, and considering there are some regionals who are weaker then others, you might get a situation where one's number 4 is better then anothers number 1... im just saying its not fair when there are situations where 4th seeds have shown they can compete, and even qualify, and you wanna make it so they don't even have a chance
  2. Yeah, i think everyone would be having that problem, but not sure. I know Sam Ferdig won at 103, it looked pretty onesided, but Im not sure, then he got the pin, and Josh Olsen won at 119 (both south bend Adams), Josh won by tech fall.
  3. I'm also going to have to say Gregory's going to take it this year, I've seen this kid wrestle a lot, and he has stepped it up, at the beginning of the year I was skeptical about his take down ability, not anymore.
  4. nope, Bradley took 8th, at 119, Hawkins won it at 112, Bradley's losses came from Brooks at semi-state, then Wright, Keiffer, and Bevans, who are 1, 2, and 3 in state at 125 this year
  5. don't forget adams, they are pretty solid this year, and they did beat washington
  6. Idk about the Laville's kids, but i'd say 119 has gregory, olsen, binion, and hinton as top 4 period, thats a pretty solid group, and if the number 5 guy is close to those 4 id actually be really surprised, now at 152, with stahl, alwine, and hummer, its solid too, those being my top three pick, but then again, i don't know lavilles kid, he might be able to find his way in but reynolds-smith is going to be tough
  7. Yeah, he looked alittle out of it startin the next match, but he ended up pinning the kid
  8. You probably already know this but Josh Olsen beat Binion from Mishawaka7-5 at the al smith, great match
  9. Haha, none of the quick pins from side headlocks, and our heavyweights pin was the only throw (for the quick pins)
  10. Chesterton was 5-0 Adams 4-1 with Adams only losing to Chesterton 39-36
  11. my brother talked to Bradley early in the year (CMA early bird) and Bradley said he was going to try to drop to 119, and i personnally wouldn't say that it wasn't the upset of the year, its an upset, but not of the year, Bradley is a very very solid wrestler!!!
  12. I haven't seen much out of him, but I was very impressed by him in his match with Ferdig, it was a very solid match
  13. Thats for sure, but he just seemed like a good example
  14. I was going to tell them that the rankingsguy doesn't do the semi-state rankings... u sorta made that obvious ontherise *shakes fist at ontherise*
  15. I emailed u also, but at 125 Josh Olsen from South Bend Adams had a :13 sec pin on 11-28-09 and at 160 Dorian Stroud from South Bend Adams had a :12 sec pin, on 11-28-09 also
  16. The points might of been close, but Herring could have still dominated (idk, I have no say in the matter, just puttin out my 2 cents), Lets say a guy goes out, and yeah, he isn't a powerhouse scorer, but he puts the guy in bad positions, and ends up getting his points, if hes on top, still has the guy in bad position, to the point where the guy on bottom cant score, the guy on top is dominating, just not dominating the score board, thats just my say in things, one prime example for me that comes to mind would be josh harper, his sophmore year at sectionals, he only won the final match 3-0 but he controled that match, in a dominating fashion, you don't always need to score big to control the whole match
  17. thats awesome lol, not that he got introuble for it, but because he did it

  21. Yeah, quench gum worked well for me, to bad I discovered it way late in my career
  22. for me I think it hurt me, maybe not up front, but in the long run for sure, by the time state series came in 2008 (my senior year), I was a little warn down I think, and my head wasn't in it as much
  23. I pretty much always went up 15 pounds after a match, not fun...
  24. I wouldn't say I managed my weight well, but with cottonmouth, I would just get some water in my mouth, and spit it out, the problem was it would come back... so I would try to make weight, and then id have about a pound of w/e I could take in, cause personally I usually lost 1 and a half pounds sleeping, so id lose the weight and have a little bit of room to drink/eat... that being said, despite the weight I lost I still seemed to be small for my weight, which was annoying considering I was losing about 15 pounds to make weight
