  1. Tyrel Todd new asst. coach at Purdue. 3x AA at Michigan, 184/197. seems like a good hire for the big boys.
  2. CHUBS hate to say this but someone close to the program is feeding you a line of PETERson!
  3. I believe it's a coaches vote at regional tournament. I'm wondering how coach of the year is determined?
  4. I know I'm biased but Lynde majored Hurford last year at semi state and I'm sure the match results would be similar this year. Brooks vs Micic in my opinion would be an awesome match giving the edge to Brooks. Mappes would beat Stevenson IMO, but another fun match.
  5. 106 Micic (good match) 113 Brooks (worth price of admission) 120 Petrov (major) 126 Ayersman (not much action 3-2) 132 LeCount (wrestling room rematch) 138 Jackson (8-3 not close) 145 Tsirtsis (major) 152 Farrell (close) 160 Harvey (blood bath} 170 Mappes (good match) 182 Lynde (major) 195 Sliga (2013 over 2012) 220 Robinson (too athletic) hwt Hall (O.T.) 2012 11 wins 2013 3 wins (132,152,220)
  6. I was wondering the same thing as to when the asistant thought control was established, it had to have happened before time ran out. GREAT QUESTION, although I don't think it changes the match outcome.
  7. Ya I found it after you mentioned that it was already discussed. Surprised more fans aren't upset and talking about it more.
  8. I didn't realize this was already dicussed. I knew I wasn't the only wrestling fan with private detective skills.
  9. Am I wrong or is that Tyler Kral onthe cover or is it Jason Tsirtsis like it says? I know the answer just amazed that a mistake like this could have been put to print on the IHSAA wrestling program. Nice chest hair Jason, not bashing Tyler or Jason, just the IHSAA.
  10. Larry I agree reprocussions do come later via ranking of officials. I'm pretty sure what I seen was misconduct by the coaches that was not controlled by the officials. We get warned about misconduct before sectionals even starts to make sure no one gets to watch the tourney from the stands. Coaches will always work officials but some conduct can not be allowed. Just my opinion.
  11. Not really meaning to pick on Crown Point coaches or the wrestling program itself. Mainly just how coaches from prominent programs are allowed to act. So Bruschi my post is actually a dual complaint. Coaches following protocol, like twin lakes coach did; and officials allowing these coaches to act in such a manner as the CP coaches did. Yes I work the officials to try and get calls, but not with two coaches at the table.
  12. I never said we need video replay, I said it had nothing to do with my complaint. I need a pony got one I can use, and make sure its saddled up so I can lasso this open book test to become an official.
  13. Plan on it Awood, didn't really think my post was that negative on officiating, but more on how the coaches acted during the heat of the moment. Sorry I ruffled your feathers.
  14. Video replay has nothing to do with coaches not following protocal and officials not making them follow protocal. There will always be questionable calls, my complaint is two coaches at the bench. If the assisstant coach was delivering the rule book to coach Vlink thats fine give it to him then back away. That's not what I seen. What I did see was two coaches intensely questioning the call as I stated originally.
  15. Not surprised, just frustrated that Crown Point coaches and many other coaches from prominant programs are allowed to act in such a manner. Officials don't seem to have a problem telling me or any other coaches from smaller less prominant programs to follow the rules.
  16. As a coach i have questioned many calls and will most likely continue to question calls made during matches, but here's my issue. Yesterday at Merrillville during the Denton Fuqua match that protocall was followed properly by the Twin Lakes coach and not followed by the Crown Point coaches. Notice how I said coach for Twin Lakes and coaches for Crown Point. One coach at the table not two. This should not have been allowed. both coaches were intensely questioning the call as I would have for my wrestler, but the assisstant ref should have helped control that by not allowing the assisstant coach to approach the table. This was not the only time this happened, but definately one time that sticks out. As for being told to be quite by a Crown Point fan after yelling "one coach at the table", NO I will not and that is why I'm posting my observations. Lots of great wrestling and afull day of questionable calls. Ted Lynde Volounteer Asst. coach Delphi wrestling
  17. Pretty sure the Purdue coaches have the Lynde/Atwood weight issue all figured out. Both boys know where they fall into the program and let's face it, college coaches may know a thing or two that we spectators don't
  18. It's hard for a parent to watch this sport and not want to dislike their child's opponent. I had the opportunity to spend some time with the Westfield fans and got to "know" Lucas through them. What an incredible young man. Being ex-Navy myself, I wish him the best. He is a champion and wins and losses do not define individuals. I would have liked to have met him and shook his hand.
  19. I know for a fact that T Lynde received a phone call walking off of the mat after the finals from Atwood. He was the first to congratulate him...do you know what this is? It's called class and both boys have it. There has never been any competition between the two of them, they make each other better and are the best of friends. Thank you for the positive posts on T, that shows class and it is appreciated.
  20. Last I heard wrestling for third against Loder sophomore from Northern Iowa. (#5 WIN Magazine)
  21. Delphi had 4 unbeaten wrestlers 126 Little, 132 Alderman, 182 Lynde, and 195 Beruman. Team wrestled pretty good considering how young they are.
  22. Rumell and Hilemans match was 5-4 when Rumell hit the throw that dislocated Hileman's elbow, however the official did award a takedown then blew the whistle to stop the match. therefore Rumell won by injury default, but the score was indeed 7-4.
  23. What stands out to me is how weak 160 and 171 are this year at Merrillville. Yes, some ranked guys, but none that impressive. If you were to examine 160 or 171 at Merrillville for the last 20 years, then compare this group... whoo not so good. I really doubt ANY of these guys would even get out of Merrillville in 18 of the last 20 seasons. now that is funny, Lynde and Quiroz are looking to go back for a third time in just their JUNIOR seasons. Have you even seen these two wrestle this year or are you just running your mouth for the sake of argument? Also it's not like they went those first two years as lightweights. Both will represent the Merrillville semi-state very well! ENOUGH SAID!
