  1. Sneaker is a good name for you and Coach Brown, are you saying that "Sneaker" was a coach at Cathedral? I do not remember him coaching there. There will be some great match ups at city this year.
  2. Sneaker, Pretty far stretch to claim Corsaro as a cousin isn't it? How far removed is he? Please don't come on her and pretend to be a fan of the program when people that know you have heard you bash the program and the wrestlers and coaches (past and present) on numerous occasions.
  3. Well no offense, but times are different now and with longer life expectancy, I think 15 is still a child. Just beacuse you have a child at 15 does not make you an "adult". I would like to think the parents who are there watching their child would prefer that booing not take place at an event their child is a participant. I totally respect the hard work and dedication that these wrestlers have put in but it does not change the fact that they are still "children"
  4. That is because he is an (insert any descriptive word you wish)
  5. So Duck, You think that everyone was booing the coaches - you are absolutely wrong. I was there and I heard people yelling that Tyler was a cheater. They were definitely booing him. I agree it was an unfortunate turn of events for both wrestlers, but please stop trying to twist the facts around to suit your crybaby self. Maybe if you had been in attendance, you could have witnessed firsthand the behavior of Vlahos for yourself. Perhaps your bigger problem is with the coaching staff at Cathedral and not with Tyler, but it does not come across that way. And yes, I would agree that it showed a lack of class by the spectators to boo a 15 year old boy. Booing an athlete has no place in children's athletic events.
  6. He was fun to watch. I don't even know him and I was cheering for him to win.
  7. what exactly did the Cathedral coaches do? The best kid was on top the podium last night, let him enjoy his victory - he deserved it. Willis was the 2nd best kid all year according to Rankings Guy so he too was in his rightful place.
  8. Unfortunately for Tyler, you were in the minority at Conseco on Saturday. Ignorance will continue to breed ignorance and I can only hope that people will learn from their displaced hatred towards a "boy", he is only 15, and a school they know nothing about. Tyler will come away from this a better person, although somewhat broken by the misguided hatred that was bestowed upon him by a malicious crowd. It is no wonder that people look at wrestling and think it is a brutal, vicious sport.
  9. Sorry Duck, with all of your narrow minded comments posted on the 160 thread, I think you may be a little biased. Trash talking a kid does not make you a better person, it simply makes you look stupid.
  10. "I dont see how you cant wrestle a match, and then you go out later and wrestle..i mean its not like anything is going to change in that short amount of time. It might not have mattered anyway, but i know i would not have to live with that" Well since you must be the only person to have never sustained an injury while wrestling, of course you don't understand. Just because Tyler was able to wrestle later in the day does not mean he had full use of the arm and shoulder. He was not wearing the brace to make a fashion statement. Perhaps you and duck and run can get together and trash talk some more kids on this boards or maybe you could get a life
  11. I would like to say congrats to Sean for not taking advantage of an obviously injured opponent. Wish you success at the next level. I am pretty sure that you have wrestled McCray, Vlahos and Willis - which one gave you your best match this season. Yesterday I was ashamed to be a part of a wrestling community that continually booed a fifteen year old kid. He did not deserve that and to the adults that displayed such behavior, you need to think about the example that you are setting for your children. For those of you who claim to be just booing Cathedral and/or their coach - do you honestly think that Tyler knew that and it is still inexcusable. All of the young men who wrestled yesterday deserve much more than that. For some kids yesterday was the end of their high school wrestling career and they are not going on to wrestle at the next level so good luck to all of you as well. There is life after wrestling, well not really but I hope you will forget the lack of class shown yesterday ad take with you the positive things you learned along the way.
  12. You are all so quick to judge. If it were your son, wrestler or teammate, then maybe you would have a different view. Pretty sure that no wrestler is going to fake an injury to move on and the move that Vlahos did was illegal according to the officials. If he had not done something illegal in the first place, this discussion would not be taking place.
  13. So you are saying that both officials on the mat made the wrong call. I did not notice Vlahos' coaches getting too upset so they must have seen something as well. I hope the McMurray/Willis match does take place so the people on the board thinking he quit on the Vlahos match can see that he is no quitter. It is an unfortunate thing that happened but if you put yourself in a position for the call to be made, you have to accept the risk that the officials might see it and make the call.
  14. Shame on you John Maio to come on this board and start pointing fingers at anyone. I do not recall seeing you in attendance at the Cathedral Wrestling meets this season. For you to get on your soapbox and start preaching about the character of these young men or their respect for Cathedral High School and the wrestling program is a joke. Perhaps it is time that you let go of the hate that you still harbor towards your old coach and move on with your life. Do not claim to be such a supporter of the program when a bigger man, if he was truly concerned would have called the boys parents to convey that concern. After this inflammatory post on you part, I am sure that the parents would love to hear some more of your insightful words. Do you honestly think that John Grey was unhappy with his finish? Do you think that Calvin Sullivan is so classless to intentionally do what you claim? Last but not least, do you think for one second that Coach Wright would not make Brandon, Calvin and John own up to what you and the rest of the Cathedral bashers claim was a plot to disrespect their fellow wrestlers? These boys meant no disrespect to anyone in the wrestling community or their fellow wrestlers on the podium. As for your claim to be great friends with the McGinley family, I am pretty sure their loyalty is with the Cathedral wrestlers and their own family, not someone who posts a blog to malign the program as well as the wrestlers within the program.
  15. Thornton, You do realize that you are debating with what I believe is a high school student who probably is not even a part of the Cathedral Wrestling team. With that in mind, I think any further debate on your part is just adding fuel to the fire. The Cathedral Wrestlers as well as the Perry Meridian Wrestlers both had fine seasons and I do not think that anyone should get on this board and make light of what either team accomplished. Yes, they both came up a little short on what they would have liked, but both programs are producing some high caliber wrestlers. Can we please move on.
  16. Thornton, Sullivan wrestled Wood at 152 and I do believe that they met again and Sullivan beat him then too. The only point Wood got either match was from being cut. I don't think Sullivan was in any danger of losing, although I do agree the score was very close, but Sullivan seemed in control both times they wrestled. I agree if Tonte had gotten T. McGinley in a headlock, he had a shot of beating him. I agree that the match was closer than the score indicated, but you still have to admit that Cathedral was better in the dual on that particular night. I also think that if we wrestled Team State again today, we might see a different winner. Regradless, Congratulations to all of the teams that made it to state - You worked for it and you earned it - Good luck next season!!
  17. When will the final team participants be known? Did the kids you mailed information to already commit to going?
  18. The only thing to be said about Harper is that he was injured. If he had not been injured, he would have claimed number 4. Most wrestlers would not even attempt to do what he has done this year. Congrats to him and good luck to him in college. Most of us could only hope to achieve what he has on the mat.
  19. KKLTeddy I was down there and did not notice anything of the sort from the Cathedral wrestlers. For you to come on here now and try to stir the pot against the Cathedral wrestlers is too bad. I suppose you were one of the people cheering when they lost. Shame on you.
  20. Sullivan cut Brogden - not a true escape and from where I was Brogden appeared to not do much. I also heard Sullivan could not practice all week - too bad for him. Hope he is able to practice this week.
  21. It was a nice gesture on McGinley's part to wrestle Hunter, but he is by no means a front runner for the mental attitude award winner at state. Anyone at the last 6 way for cathedral would agree with me. He is a very talented wrestler but not exactly the role model people are making him out to be.
