    From what I've been looking at it looks like crown point with 5. That's impressive!

    Well said Merlyn. A good coach will always have a good team. Maybe not a champion. I think you need to look at way all of the wrestlers wrestle. Varsity, JV, Freshman, middle school, and club.

    CP all the way! The team has really gotten better. They beat merriville by 15 points the second time! Wow! CP CP CP!

    CP has made so me serious gains this year. It was already a team of studs, but they got put through the ringer in that wrestling room. They beat Merr. by 15 when the first time it was pretty close. CP all the way. It is their time.

    I'm looking forward to team state. CP is in. Should be some interesting duals w/ fired up coaches and wrestlers.

    I think Merlyn makes a good point! How can you actually tell if a Coach is working the refs or whining? You can't! Did CP have some bad calls on their guys? Sure sounds like it! Were they the better team and won? Yes! Has Portage beaten CP before? Yes!

    Great Question! No answer! A great coach runs a great program! There are a bunch of really great programs in this state.

    I guess I understand! If you are the champ, then you will be the champ. But it certainly doesn't do a great job with who is really 2nd place, 3rd place, and so. Also, I'd like to see an awesome match in the finals. How does this format get us there. We would never do individual state as blind draw!

    Does anybody body else see a problem with the team state bracket? Why do we have the number #1, #3, & #4 team on one side on the bracket? I know they did this up before and all, but I don't think this makes sense. Shouldn't it be a seeded tournament? At least for the last 8 teams. I am interested in what other people think about this bracketting.

    Eddie & Tharp = good coaches! Vlink & Rodriguez = good coaches! I don't care if you are winning or not. You argue for all your kids.

    Correct me if I am wrong Portage fans, but you guys had a coach that is/was famous for working the refs when you guys were sending tons of kids downstate. Congrats CP! However, I hope our region is well represented at state this year by all these great wrestlers.

    Maybe you should leave them alone! They might be busy. I think they might be coaching! A high school team. A club team. All those guys live at the high school during season. Back off!

    Well said Warrensdad! There is a lot that goes into creating a great wrestler: good coaches, good practice partners, hard work, and supportive parents.

    I'm not saying anything against CIA. I've heard a lot of good stuff about CIA, but it is unfair to credit those wrestlers success with CIA alone. I'm sure all those kids have had a bunch of coaches that have helped them. I'm sure they all wrestled with a high school club and other places. This area is really stacked with quality coaches. That's probably the reason why this area generates a lot of really great wrestlers.
