  1. Well i guess im too "old school" to relate to the antics that happened at the end of the match. I was always taught to act like a respectful contestent win or lose. My coaches and Dad always said when you win a match dont disrespect the sport...school...opponent and when you lose dont do it either. If i felt the need to celebrate i did it amongst my teammates out of the spot lights. I wish Red the best, but i think he has a lot of growing up to do.

Or he can continue with being full of energy, with supreme confidence in himself and go on to have a great future. You know just differing opinions and all.

  2. Chad Red Jr/Sr both have displayed on several occasions acts not becoming of an coach and athlete that respects the sport and opponents. There is no denying that he's extremely talented and earned his ranking and place in Indiana wrestling history. The reason some fans don't care for him is because of his demeanor and lack of humbleness after winning matches. The Red's have the "ME" mentality. This isn't the first time they've acted like this and if you've followed them, you would know that.

Hopefully when Chad Red Jr attends NE that Coach Manning and Coach Burroughs change his attitude when it comes to respecting the sport of wrestling and opponents. Hopefully his current mental training doesn't affect his collegiate career because he's to talented not to be a multiple NCAA AA!

How does he not respect the sport? I'm pretty sure he loves the sport and is more grateful for the sport than most.

  3. Awesome match. Loved every minute of it. Congrats to both wrestlers. As for the "best of all time" argument that people are making for red I say this, I never witnessed a match where Alex tsirsis or angel Escobedo coasted to "feel out" their opponent. And I for sure never witnessed either of them getting taken down, let alone dumped to their back. But maybe it's better this way for the spectators. Man what a match. Pick neutral Lee!

Tsirtsis got put on his back at state by a mater dei wrestler

  4. I didn't see it live but was watching on ihsaa tv. It looked like Red was already running off the mat before time expired. I know they gave Lee a point for an escape but why wasn't Red called for fleeing and Lee awarded another point? It would have gone into overtime.

    Come on, really?

  5. Up to this point in his career Nick Lee will be the toughest opponent Chad Red has faced. This is the real deal. An undefeated 4 time state Champion title is on the line against the best opponent that can face him on the mat.

Lukes Pletcher, Taylor Lemont and others would disagree about Lee being his toughest opponent.

  6. i think a healthy lee would beat red 4-1. red isn't very dominate at all against people who are totally unafraid. lee is a different breed psychologically than most of reds opponents. ive seen way worse wrestlers than lee refuse to lay down against red and that alone frustrated red and left him unable to dominate. if lee got the first takedown, he would win.

Do you have some examples of some matches where lesser opponents frustrated Red? I have watched some of his matches with the country's best and haven't seen this supposed frustration.

  7. I assume you were interested in FW, which I don't believe had trackcast last week. New Castle did and other people have mentioned having had success with it.

New castle had no feed last weekend.

  8.

JV????????????????   :o  This is crazy.. I know several people that wrestles lance and they still coach to this day...and they saiy they have never seen a wrestler that would beat them at that weight. Ive wathced this guy..i know your theory might work for some guys...but i really believe it doesnt with lance.

Wow, you really dont detect any sarcasm in his post???

  9. jlaw1981,

Just make sure you know what I said regarding "majoring" someone. Go back and read my post...I never said anything about the "3" majoring each other, I said the "3" were a Major better than the rest of the field. I stand by my claim, Cash, Micic, and Boston have the state/national accolades and the others do not. Can these 3 be beaten? Sure, but IMO, they are CLEARLY the head of the pack.

I hope the others in the field prove me wrong, it makes for a better state finals.

No, I understood and agree with your post. My post was directed at the ones who are sure one of the 3 were so far ahead of the other 2.
