  1. then why not make everything else co-ed then? I never said that every other sport should not be co-ed. I feel that if a state does not offer a sport for a specific gender then they should be able to participate with the opposite gender. For example, Indiana does not have MALE volleyball (as far as I know) but they do have it in college. How is a male supposed to get any recognition from colleges if they don't have any experience? I say let them play. But they will also have to deal with the ridicule from classmates. That is just the society that we live in. I was just stating my opinion of girls wrestling. Don't mean to go off subject but some some info. Indiana does have a male volleyball league and a state championship even. It is more of a club thing that is just not recognized as a sport by the IHSAA. Only a small group of school in Indiana have a male team. How you get recognized for college is the same way you would for wrestling. Join the summer league travel teams in your area and participate in national events. Same thing with men gymnastics since it was discontinued as a IHSAA recognized sport. On a personal note I would have been in favor or a male volleyball team in high school.
  2. Already sporting the U of I shirt I see. Should be a nice addition to their crew.
  3. As mentioned before I'd much rather the state board of education worry about what they currently have on their plates. From the looks of it that seem more than enough to keep them busy. Until they can fix all the current education needs I sure as heck don't want them worrying about something that has very little to do with education. I don't want this to issue to pass but I would like it to be felt as a wake up call to the IHSAA in its current form.
  4. Looked him up he's listed as a 6'4" 225lb running back alright.
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of a TE.
  6. Not possible. He's still walking back to Cornell and wouldn't have time to post along the way if he plans on making before the team bus leaves for the next event.
  7. Personally I was hoping he's the Grandma in the orange shirt. But I'm a few rows high.
  8. If you our calling a move "junk" then what does it say about the person who gets caught in the "junk" move. Especially if you know its coming.
  9. Team state began in 1996. Only choices the answer your question are Mater Dei, Lawerence North, and MD. I believe Mishiwaka did it last year. I'm guessing MD may have done it once in their many titles. Be nice if we had a place to find the history of the Coaches Trophy champion and runner-up since the new format started.
  10. I'm the Count of Monte Cristo... But my friends call me Edmond Dantes!
  11. I think he should be able to make it just in time to catch the bus going to Nationals.
  12. Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
  13. Enjoy. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=4539083
  14. Both days national anthems were great.
  15. Yare also the "Bull God" then.
  16. I just realized during the season with my own seniors that I starting my full coach with the group as 6th graders and began my first paid high school coaching job during their senior year. It seems fitting that it fell together in that way. It's been an honor to be on journey with those guys and many of the other seniors I have came across during that time period. Many have came a long way during that time and I hope they can recognize that even if they didn't achieve a state championship.
  17. In the past they have announced attendance when it broke the previous record for one day or the entire event. I guess we haven't reached that number in a few years because I haven't heard it announced. However, I can say we put more butts in the seats than events like Pacers games have in awhile.
  18. This has been the first group (6th graders through senior year) I have had the pleasure to follow since starting the full coaching part of my career. Because of that connection they will always hold a special place in my memory. I can remember several of these guys as young kids at middle school and and ISWA events. As I have followed those same kids careers through the past several years I have been very impressed by what they have accomplishment. Even several of those that did not win state have become wonder human beings, and great representatives of Indiana wrestling. Many of these boys and their families have put in countless hours, sweat, patience, and sometimes even a few tears into this sport and for that they should be commended. If they made it to state or not each senior hopefully can look back at his career and be proud of what they have accomplished as a whole. Thanks for all the memories guys.
  19. I'm sure we can get one made in pink for ya man.
  20. With the total of March's career he will go done as one of the best to ever come through Indiana. No doubt about that.
