  1. Junior Greco (Last Day of Fargo) May going for 5th Bickel going for 7th Khwaja going for 3rd Junior Greco Team will likely finish in the upper 20s.
  2. Junior Greco: The team took some lumps this afternoon/evening May, Bickel, and Khwaja all have reached AA status in the Consols and will be wrestling to determine placement. And Barker should also be commended for making it just one match from placement in Junior Greco.
  3. U16 Greco: Rioux and Russell 7th Smith and Dickman 6th Veazy 3rd U16 Greco Team will likely finish 16th. Junior Greco: Currently 7 in Winners Bracket and 11 in Consols. But plenty more matches left this afternoon and evening.
  4. At one point Greco used to be first but some of the feedback suggested several wrestlers didn’t want to go through the Greco grind prior to the Freestyle events. So the organizers decided to change the order hoping that more wrestlers would give Greco a try once they finished up Freestyle and had to stick around with their team anyway. I’m not sure if this change had a significant help with Greco numbers or not.
  5. U16 Greco: Team wise IN sits is currently tied for 12th place, which isn’t too bad considering we have little past success in Greco. As mentioned above 2 in the semis and 3 remaining in the consols.
  6. Junior Women Dempewolf places 3rd. Murphy and Buchanan end up in 4th place. Krejas and Smith both place 7th. The team finishes tied for 10th. Cadet Greco currently 5 on Championship side and 10 still alive in Consols. With more wrestling to go this evening.
  7. Junior Women: Murphy, Dempewolf, and Buchanan in the 3rd place match. Krejas and Smith going for 7th. The team currently sits in 11th place with some room to move up if they finish strong.
  8. Junior Women have 5 remaining. Murphy and Dempewolf in semi-finals. Krejas, Smith, and Buchanan in Consols. All will end up placing. Womens team is currently in 9th place. They will finish up tomorrow and Cadet Greco will begin.
  9. From the video replay it looks like Conway FF out of his last match and will place 6th. Hopefully nothing serious. Junior Men Freestlye team will finish tied for 25th. Currently the Junior Women have 8 remaining in the Championship round and 5 in the Consols. Keep battling ladies.
  10. Conway will be going for 5th tomorrow.
  11. For those who haven’t looked at the specific results yet. U16 Men: Veazy and Rioux 2nd with Dickman 8th. Team finished in 11th Junior Men: Conway in Consol Semi-finals, so he can finish between 6th-3rd place. Team will likely end-up finishing around 20th since he was the only one that survived to the medal rounds. Junior Women starts tomorrow along with Conways placement match.
  12. Rough Consol round for the U16 Men with only 3 remaining. The two finalists and then Dickman made it to the 7th place match. The Juniors are still in action for little while longer tonight. Currently 8 still in championship round and 12 alive in Consols.
  13. U16 Mens: 2 in Semi-Finals Rioux and Veazy 5 alive in Consols with one win away from placement. Kendrix, Doster, Schaefer, Betz, Dickman The Team is 9th currently. If a few council guys can advance to placement then Indiana should be able to hold onto a Top 10 finish.
  14. Veazy moves on to the U16 semi-finals
  15. Our U16 Women team placed 10th with their showing. The U16 Mens squad is currently in a huge tie for 5th but a lot of matches this round will determine where they may end up.
  16. Unfortunately he is not the best example of a redemption story. Dismissed from PSU due to a criminal case later in dismissed from Grandview for breaking his code of conduct contract, and has had a some issues since. Hopefully he can get his life under control at some point cause the early wake up called didn’t get it done. IU doesn’t need to get mixed up with potential chaos agents like Ferrari they just need to find a way to attract some solid talent that they can find a way to develop further.
  17. I’ve been waiting over the the last two years to an announcement about a decent recruiting class close to signing day but it’s been more of a small group that has trickled in over time. Not judgment on the ability of who he’s getting, it’s more of the timing and amount of wrestler. I’m not sure if IU had a lot of scholarship money tied up with his first two years of recruits (upper classman know), if Angels still trying to figure out the recruiting game, if IU needs to step up it’s NIL connections for none football/basketball athletes (which could help make up for scholarship limits) or what, but something isn’t there to get a few more wrestlers to opt in early. IU ends up with a couple guys in after signings open up and the a very slow trickle of wrestlers there after with several at weights IU isn’t as urgent to fill. The last few recruiting classes have just seems pretty small in general compare to some other schools, which would make any momentum hard to maintains. Im hopeful Angel and company can find a few diamonds in the rough from Fargo that could spark the Hoosiers, but I’d like to see a little larger announced recruiting haul prior to summer and then Fargo scouting can be used to supplement that group that made a quicker commitment to the program.

  19. In the opening round it would be considered a great draw if you had the equivalent of a ticket round semi-state level wrestler. By the end of it you will have some multi-time state placers coming from solid wrestling states who don’t even finish in the Top 8.
  20. Well the “rules of the Duals are you are allowed no more than 3 wrestler from outside your school to be in the Community division rather than the All-Star. But as we have noticed they “official rules” are not always followed closely as the community divisions turned into more of convincing what development level you can convince them you are at rather than just your school size. In the end I would hope most coaches would just want to get their kids the best competition they can for their ability rather than sandbag just to finish as one of the top teams by trying to get to a low competition level.
  21. Great I’ve been asking to see this exact rule adjustment for the better part of 25 years. While I don’t expect a rush on major national events like Ironman this is a perfect compromise to help individual sports attend nearby tournaments without being concerns about who else is there. However, now I have to find something new with the IHSAA to complain about. I’ll always have wrestle-backs.
  22. Just spitballing, but I think you make the World Team.
  23. With 2 matches left IN has enough of a lead to top IL and bringing home a 3rd place finish. Way to make the adjustment from the first encounter in the pool stage. From prior scores you could easily make the argument the squad would have had a close meet with 2nd place Iowa if their was a true second. Best finish in Schoolboy Freestyle history for IN too. Nice showing this weekend boys.
