  1. Academy access (distance and economics) is definitely becoming the new norm for potential placement for most levels of state tournament success. Wrestling, like some other sports, isn’t as much of a blue collar sport as it once was.
  2. What’s crazy to me is Brownsburg had 3 state champs, 1 runner up, two 3rds and a 6th. But still get 3rd place. Definitely shows Indiana wrestling is pretty too heavy with a few schools.
  3. Yelled at my house to be quiet during the closing moments of watching state on TV, so I could clearly listen to Kevin’s voice one at state last time. Thank you sir. Your voice and rapport will always be my memory of what the state finals should sound like.
  4. From what I’ve gathered he spends his fall in football, so no pre-season events. Not sure if he’s done much spring/summer freestyle national circuit events yet.
  5. Didn’t look that cool on my TV. I could see everything perfectly fine with the prior years spotlight when I watched my TV recorded. Having most of the lower bowl of seating lit up kinda was a distracting I had to get used to. Unless it was some major help to the reds seeing near fall/pinning angles without shadow effects I don’t see a reason to ever have the lights set up like that ever again.
  6. Im about ready to send in my Pickems. Just need a couple more minutes to finalize things.
  7. They always come in force and dress to take care of business.
  8. I don’t know about hair but it’s clear Kankakee Valley came to take over the coaching fancy dress award.
  9. I’ve plugged in my laptop to my TV before via an HDMI connection to watch Quadbox on Flo since their App doesn’t have that option.
  10. I don’t have a provider that caries the Ballys network. However with the free trial subscription you can still get it through their App. Cast maybe a part of it. I’ve had a pretty good steam since it started.
  11. Been on for me the whole time after signing into my free 7 day trial account for their App
  12. Seems like someone at the fieldhouse didn’t bother to adjust a good center light series for the finals. I get the athletes and refs need decent lighting but the entire lower bowl of seats looks lit up.
  13. Looks pretty bright on the Bally stream. Someone in the field house not do a good job adjusting the lighting prior for use on a center mat?
  14. It’s not on Flo. Flo has never got the rights to the finals from the IHSAA. I put the issue totally on the IHSAA for wording their viewing options poorly. I had concerns with this issue early on and provided instructions to a free viewing option through an 7 day trial of Bally Sports + App. a few post up this page.
  15. A lot of provider so account for travel/vacation zip code to be used for a limited time, so hopefully they have this so you can get in tonight.
  16. FloGopher said earlier in the post that the Flo coverage this year still does not included the finals. But if anyone’s in the Indiana viewing area and doesn’t have Ballys on their TV provided I provided instructions above on how to watch the finals with the Ballys App 7 day free trial.
  17. Looks like I’m in with the BallySports+ 7 Day free trial. If you are in the Indiana viewing area and don’t have Ballys on your TV provided and didn’t want to pay for the entire weekends coverage you can watch the finals with this. Sign up on your phone/computer. You will need a credit card. So don’t forget to cancel afterward. Then look for Wrestling in upcoming events or the search option. .If you want to watch it through your TV you will need to sign up like instructed above. Then after that download the Ballys App. click sign-in. The first time through it will ask you to go to the Ballys activation website to type in the code. Then enter the app and look for wrestling in upcoming events or the search option. Nothings is playing on mine yet, but I can click into the Indiana High School Wrestling link on their App, so I’m assuming it will play for me when it starts at 7:30.
  18. I believe at one point the rule book said you could have either a 2 or 1 minute first period. But 1 minute became so common that at some point it was adjusted to says 1 minute. I agree 2 minutes should be standard for at least the state tournament series. A lot more scoring actions tends to occur with 2 minutes over 1.
  19. Parents do your kids a favor and sign them up for Steve Stallings (aka Greg Warrens) Wrestling camp today. It will be an eye opening experience for sure.
  20. I think weight by weight matches are way easier to enjoy the event than the constant t scramble to figure out who was up where. As long as things don’t go to midnight I say keep it this way. I do agree though they could stop the break between Fridays 1st and 2nd session. Could easily start a few hours later so more people could watch in person or online, run it straight through, and still get done at a decent time. The empty seats near the upper weights in the past were much more a result of people clearing out around 182 so they could go get a fast lunch and then scramble for seats for the placement round. With assigned seats I think you get a much better chance of people sticking around for those matches. And it seems like session isn’t going that much longer than previous years. You maybe have a concern to be worried about if they were wrapping up at 4 but right now they will be done around 1:45 with plenty of time for fans to get food and return for placement matches by 4:30.
  21. 182 maybe the only weight without a Evansville SS rep in the finals. A couple of the weights left will be close but Evansville SS wrestlers taking a lot of the top 4 spots.
  22. Thanks. But, Ugh sounds like it’s pay another time to view for most people. Looks like Bally Sports indiana has a 7 day free trial that may work to push the viewing problem down the road until at least next year. Ballys Network is trending to go under for good by then so who knows the viewing option by next year. Anyone know if just watching the finals on IHSAA App would be pro-rated cost rather than paying for the whole weekend worth?
  23. As much as I was hoping to make it up for state life priorities (wife’s birthday) took precedence this time. Does anyone have confirmation on the streaming options for the championship finals matches. In years past it wasn’t carried on FLO so your only options were the IHSAA app (which used to be free) or having Bally Sports TV (formally Fox Sports). The wording on the IHSAA site isn’t super clear on the Championship match viewing and I don’t want curveball to occur when the finals get started. I know it’s on Ballys TV but that’s not carried by many providers anymore, including mine. And from the current IHSAA app options they are charging for the finals as part of the whole state package. But possibly the Championship finals only free option just isn’t up yet. So can anyone confirm if the finals will actually be on Flo this year? Or are the finals only still free on IHSAA app rather than part of the entire day pay option?
  24. To add to that, from what I have seen before a quad view isn't always available when using their app all the time. Occasionally there is a 5th stream option that already combines all 4 mats but no options to divide your screen into 4 different screens. But the QuadBox option does exist through using their website via their website.
