  1. Negative 3?? Now that's a bad year
  2. I realize the original poster is trolling, but I''ll answer anyway.... I clearly like wrestling more, wrestled as a young kid through high school, and have since been a huge fan, but I also love basketball, I've always loved to play it and watch it at every level, high school through the NBA. Can someone explain why alot of wrestling fans dislike basketball so much? I don't get it, it's a great sport!!!! And I truly believe the greatest athletes in the world are in the NBA. There is nothing more embarrasing than when I see some clown wearing one of those T shirts that diss basketball. If you don't enjoy watching the sport than just don't watch it! Where does the animosity come from? Do some people feel that basketball gets too much respect at the expense of wrestling?
  3. He eget the most out of the least? talant or Numbers CP has what 3000 kids in there high school. Not until recently has he start to make noise ont the state level except a couple of good 215, Millis, Mark Vlink and the Wilkersons. Getting the most out of what you have would be schools like West Central or whiting where they only have like 200 or some of these other 1A schools when you 40 kids come out for wrestling you should be sucessful. Like I said in my first post on best coaches a coach Like Jim Wadkins Calumet(500) who has something like 16 kids come out every year and still fills a line up and has to deal with things with kids who come from a pretty rough area. Same with the Hammond and Gary school. I guess saying "most with the least" wasn't the best way to articulate my thoughts What I meant to say is that Coach Vlink really seems to aqueeze all the potential out of the less naturaly gifted, athletic kids. Also. to me, it just seems like Crown Point kids, always seem to do the right things on the mat And I think you may need a little history lesson on the Dogs, I've been following the program for a long time The were probably the best region team of the 80'S, were a little down for CP standards but still well above average throughout the 90's, and are back to the top of the region, and a consistent top 10 team in the state in the 2000's Since Vlink arrived according to there website gocpwrestling.com 18 time sectional champs 6 time regional champs 10 time conference champs 62 state qualifiers (soon to be more) 27 state medals (soon to be more) Those are pretty impressive numbers!!
  4. Vlink That man forgot more wrestling than most will ever know, he also really seems to get the most out of the least, it is only recently that C.P has been loaded with this much talent I really have enjoyed watching the progression of some of these kids that have come through the program over the years, especially the less experienced, and less talented kids.
  5. Agreed. But having Team Regional that following Wednesday helped out. If I remember correctly, he wasnt at either the team or individual regional I wonder what the rule was on that.
  6. That is true. Is there any other county that has multiple reps?? That has more to do with the draw than anything The fact that Marion county has about 500,000 more people, and 50 more schools than most counties might have something to do with it too
  7. Vlink is always animated with the refs You think Wednesday was bad? I've seen some epic meltdowns, but in his defense, they always seem to be justified. My favorite is when he busts out the rule book!!!! Who remembers sectionals 03'? Was kicked out of the next meet, along with Hawkins. I have never seen an official make a worse call than that particular one though.
  8. lol at de javou Maybe you mean deja vu? The Hobart educational system owes you. P.S Dreamgirls>>>>>deja vu, gotta love the 18 year old age requirement, I remember me and the boys going there after our Saturday tourneys senior year
  9. This topic seems to come up every year. There seems to be so many people that get upset about basketball getting more coverage, blah blah blah Secret: Newspapers are in the business of selling papers!! There is not that large of an audience for high school wrestling. I'm sure they have people doing research on what people want to read about, and what will ultimately sell more papers, and in turn get more advertising dollars. In terms of HOW they cover the sport, Its a little unreasonable to think that the writers should all be experts on the sport, I think we should be happy with what is written. All that said, my paper, the Hammond Times does a terrific job. Keep it up Waddle!!!
