First of all, Indiana is very fortunate to have both indiv and team state for high school wrestling. There are a lot of states that dont hold both events so the thought of losing team state will definetely hurt Indiana hs wrestling . Now, I can agree with both sides of the argument here, but I think one of the real points here is just how many teams/ coaches maybe made this so called mockery of IN team state regional matches. My guess, is that is a very low percentage of teams that maybe put some JV wrestlers on the mat for a Team State dual. Certainly, the choice is there to support team state and attend or not support team state. I certainly don't have all the info here and I don't believe the ISHAA is losing money on a event over the last decade that has seen 3000 to 5000 fans attend at Center Grove HS. Who wants to see a hs wrestling season conclude anyway??? Why???. Team state gives a true team title and something that most IN hs wrestling fans look forward to each wrestling season. So, any thought of losing the Team State Championship would be a loss for IN hs wrestling overall. The Team State is well over 10 years old ,and has a great atmopshere for everybody every single wrestling season. Team state needs to remain in place and hopeully 8 teams will be wrestling at Center Grove next year and numerous seasons for years to come.. Keep Indiana Team State!

Wasn't their video Of Indiana Team State by some video broadcast network last year. I believe there was video of all three rounds last yr, but not this year, why? Why would the ISHAA allow video last year but not this year? I do remember watching the first round last year...

those are some pretty good comebacks....any comeback by pin? or major decesion... the finals are very good matches, but such low scoring matches...im sure you see more higher scoring matches in the quarter finals and semis..than the final at conseco???

While watching the podcast of the Indiana HS state wrestling tournament at Conseco. I was wondering what been the biggest comeback win in ISHAA wrestling state history in the finals? This year there were a lot of low scoring matches and some overtimes. I was wanting to know the big comeback wins by IN hs wrestlers? Say a match were a wrestler was down by over 6 pts or more in the second period and won by points or by Fall???? Has there been any state finals matches where either made a correct/ incorrect pinfall call? Or a match where a wrestler was DQ because of bad sportsmanship....etc.. I know it doesnt happen often, but something to think about....

to maligned..thanks for serving our great country.... you make a greate point..this is a great format for hs wrestling...and the state wrestling tournament is the highlight o f the entire season..yeah, it does seem a whole lot less postings on the matches, and the atmosphere of IN HS state wrestling your right I mean this forum really, the only way for those outside of IN to keep up with a great HS wrestling event I hope to see more informatitive posting this weekend and next for TEAM states thanks

Absolutely. I must agree with all the points just mentioned. Castle has great fans, and it was packed for the opening round. Mater Dei might have added just a few extra fans, but it wasnt noticable. Yes, all of the fan bases were fine. Thoughts PM might have more fans being so close to Center Grove??? Also, thought the refs did a very consistent job officiating. Im sure not every single call correct, but they seem pretty consistent. I thought well officiated matches for the most part. -
Hello, That was a outstanding IN team state today? Exciting matches, and not decided til the last match. Must give credit to Crown Point pulling it out. Any one of the final four teams could have won it. Must give extra credit To Castle HS wrestling team. Their coach showed a lot of class, and the team as well. Castle overcame that monster Mater Dei, and nearly won a state title today. Castle's coach looks is a veteran coach and just unfortuanate his team didnt come home with the State Title hardware today. Certainly was rooting for hin to win a state title. His team wrestled extremely hard, and just not able to to pull out those two last matches vs PM. Btw, the PM coach, certainly resembles the legendary Dan Gable with thos glasses. Another classis Team State at Center Grove. Might have been one of the most exciting semi-finals and finals in years!!! Congrats to all of the teams!!!

I think Indiana is very competitive in the sport of wrestling. Team State is outstanding, and a great atmosphere. Its a little time consuming but that goes with the territory. WVA has a nice intro for the parade of champions. KY is also pretty good. -
Hello, I think it would be great to read insights on both the indiv. and team state wrestling tournaments. More wrestling is good news to everybody and having a extra weekend of wrestling for team state gives everybody something to look forward to. Infact, who wants to see the sudden end to the wrestling season anyway. So, whats better team or indiv state. I like the team state format and hope IN keeps the same format with this traditional wrestling tournament for the next several decades. Good wrestling to all.... Good luck

Hello...Im getting nothing at all on the broadcast.net... they only have audio archieves of prior state tourney... theres no video icon, link on their site? any help? or is there different sites for friday/ sat IHSAA state wresting? which ones? thanks

Thanks for the broadcasts...much appreciative...So, what time approx for the Friday Night Matches? I guess broadcasts starts around 5 pm for the finals? Will you broadcast team state as well?? Im sure everyone appreciates the coverage!!

hello, I know this is sort of old news but im sort of shocked that MD will not be wrestling for a team state title on feb. 28. For years MD has brought good wrestling teams, and huge following of fans to the team state wr tourney near Indy. Now, they get upset by Castle? How did Castle beat team at team state? Were MD fans in a state of Shock??? I know Castle has a few good wrestlers in the past, but to beat MD for the right to go to team state championships? Kudos to Castle. So, will Castle bring a large fan base for Team State? Will MD fans help out and support, or just stay home? Thanks...Congrats Castle
