  1. Jacob, and his older brother Michael, are both high quality competitors and all around good kids. I don't know of any wrestling rooms in the state that wouldn't want more kids like them
  2. Was any of this really necessary? I mean seriously
  3. Mr Ben Johnson is the Real Deal...one would think one of the two Schwizer rankings should be Johnson... ;D
  4. I wondered about that...I haven't had the chance to actually see the kids wrestle this year. I know Pierre has grown (typical of a high school kid!) but wasn't sure what his weight had been like even at 132. Meaning wasn't sure if he was a 126 plugged into the 132 slot for team purposes. Regardless, 126 will be a fun one to watch in the Evansville Sectional!
  5. Agreed...There are going to be some kinds from the Southern Half of the State make some noise for sure!
  6. Very Interesting... Vanhook, Wedding, and Pierre... That leads to the Question...Who drops to 120? I realize they take 4, but the Road to the New Ford Center may be pretty crowed at 126 in the Castle Regional. 126 may be worth the price of admission in that one!
  7. Here is an idea...and I KNOW it will be frowned upon by some... How about we a a Wrestling Family, PRAY for all involved? We often talk about every wrestling being family, and our community, well here is where we put action to those words. The Al Smith has long been one of the premier tourneys in our state, here is to hoping for a GREAT DAY OF WRESTLING!
  8. I can say this much...GOD BLESS GRANDMA! She comes from a time and place many of these kids need to expirence today. Should he stay, or should he go...Well you are the Coach and will make that decision. It IS YOUR TEAM after all... But the world needs more people like Grandma!
  9. I have often said taking the top 4 from each SS and forming 4 teams (all first on one, seconds on another, etc) and having a 16 tourney would be FANTASTIC! Sort of an All-Star Event.
  10. We already do this...It's called the State Tourney
  11. Looks like the Kentucky teams are coming into town to represent. I wander how they will leave town? ;-)
  12. Fuel - Metallica... The first 12 words say it all...
  13. Survival of the Sickest (Radio Edit) - Saliva The unedited is the best...but let's face it SOMEONE would get bent about it...
  14. Looking over the results page, I am seeing more and more close dual meet scores. Personally, I find that to be a great thing as it shows programs are possibly stepping up more and more... I was wondering what the status of local programs were around the state? I know that in years past, the South Western part of the state has seen some programs barely able to field 4 or 5 wrestlers, but they seem to have increasing numbers and are coming back into competitive status...This is nothing but FANTASTIC for our sport! I know we will always have the teams that are 3 or 4 deep in most weight classes...but the overall health of the sport is measured in the number of teams that can field competitive rosters...i.e. fill the available slots. Thoughts?
  15. The 2003 MD team for really the apex of the MD program. Given the caliber of teams they have produced that is an incredible compliment. In order to truly judge, the current powers are impressive and it is important to note that whatever team walks away with the crown will have won against a much stronger pool of talent from every corner of the state. Who is better, The ENTIRE state!
  16. What teams are in the tourney this year? Any highly anticipated matches?
  17. Well...there is always the "Glee" soundtrack I guess...
  18. One of the Westside schools has a decent team...Should be an interesting dual for sure! Over all the SIAC is looking pretty Wicked this year!
  19. The would be the criteria just after 7 and before 9 ;D
  20. Actually Eastsiders only eat Westsiders...They taste like Chicken ;-)
  21. Top 10 reason's Wrestling is One Huge Family: 10. You spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with it. 9. No matter how "sure" the odds are, someone always have a chance of stealing away your trophy. 8. Farting...Let's face it folks, farting is a huge part of both Wrestling and Families 7. Sacrifice leads to reward...The parents understand this, the kids are learning it! 6. Pain...It is a part of life, and life is what we are all here for. 5. Emotions...The emotional high of winning is eclipsed by the emotional reaction to losing. Our joy never equates to our compassion. 4. Loyalty...Admit it, when you find out someone wrestled in the their past, they BECOME family. 3. Respect...See #4. 2. Teasing...No matter WHERE you are from, Wrestlers can ALWAYS poke fun at other Wrestlers! All others may find themselves in a very painful hold in the middle of the local Walmart Parking lot. 1. Unity...You mess with one of us...and the rest of Wrestling Nation will show up on your front lawn! We ARE a family!
  22. Looks like the Big 8 is going to be well represented this year! Excellent Weekend!
