  1. Well do you have anything useful to add to this thread , or are you just Trolling?
  2. Not trolling , provide facts that it will grow the sport in Indiana instead of comparing us to a neighboring state that is twice the size .
  3. Wonder how Christian Carroll got so good only competing for 1 year in High School ?
  4. Never said he did . My point was that 90% of kids good enough to win a state title have been wrestling since a very young age . You better than most should know this , that's why when they introduce a finalist at state or say the Al Smith . They say he's a 9 time ISWA Folkstyle state champion . That dude was winning titles at 7-9 years old . It really wouldn't matter what high school he goes to .IMO Jeffrey Huyvaert will be a multiple Indiana state champion . Do you think he got that good by going to New Prairie ?
  5. What 1A and 2A teams from Indiana are going to Ironman , Brecksville and the Carnahan ? There are dozens of reasons top tier studs change schools.
  6. Love watching this edge of your seat dual .
  7. So kids like Bo Bassett need a high school to be as good as they are?
  8. There are kids winning state titles when in the 8th grade in states that allow it . So tell me how the high school he hasn't attended yet helped him win that state title ?
  9. Why , that stud that transfers would win titles at his original school too . There are many reasons why wrestlers transfer . So you would rather he stays in 1 A and tech falls his way to 4 consecutive state titles ?
  10. No , because CC is not known as having a top tier wrestling program . Why don't you compare Penn to Bellmont ? In which case they have more state champions and or placers and are much smaller .
  11. Big reason for that 10% . If you are indeed a stud at a 1A or 2A school , you have probably transferred before high school to one of the many all star teams around the state . Didn't I just read Clinton Shepard used to be in the Rochester area ?
  12. Wrestling is an individual sport , the size of the school you attend does not matter unless you are talking about Team State Championships . We already have a classed Team State put on by the Coaches Association . Kids that are in contention for Individual state titles have been wrestling since grade school or before . They are an accomplished wrestler long before entering any high school .They are going to succeed at any high school whether 1A or 4A.
  13. State championships were held at the Hoosier Dome and then RCA dome. There was a reason for this, not just Damon Bailey.
  14. Sounds to me like you’re arguing for class wrestling. I’m all for change if it indeed will make something better, increase participation or grow the sport. I question whether it will all while ruining our state finals. Try and find a parent who’s child wrestled in a class state then Indiana. Ask them what they think .
  15. Indiana has what 400 high schools ? Those states you mentioned have 3 times that number . Of coarse they are going to be better, especially from a depth standpoint . Give me the stats where Basketball reached unprecedented heights after going to classes . I can remember that a single class basketball state championship game had to be played at the Hoosier Dome with 41,000 in attendance. Do you see that today ?
  16. This actually looks really good IMO . I would have W. Clark in at 215 . He had a close call , but no one from Indiana has beaten him , so he is still the man at 215 .
  17. 4-5 are for sure a possibility . I think the most dominate looking of the 7 are Jendreas and P. Clark.
  18. I think they are both good enough to beat each other on any given day . I think a rematch is a tossup .
  19. I agree with everything you are saying. I wasn’t doubting that he would be able to major his way to a title. I was just saying I didn’t know if that would happen.
  20. Don’t know that he’ll major his way to a title, but I do believe he wins a title this year.
  21. Jendreas looks impressive to say the least.
  22. Penn was without Freeman and Hollyfield. Thinking we could of challenged for 3rd place with those 2 wrestling .
