Cody, we have been still keeping up with Indiana wrestling and just want to let you know to keep your head up and put last weekend behind you. I don't know if you even read all the messages on this board and if you do, Do not let these people get in your head. You are a great kid and come from a great family! The people that write some of the messages on this board have never even stepped on a mat before. The pressure that you have as a nationally and state ranked wrestler with two state titles is tremendous. Everybody puts you on a pedestal and just expects you to win every match and that is not going to happen. Your journey through college is going to be ten times harder than what you are going through now. Wrestling is a great sport and teaches kids and young men such as yourself many different values that you will need to get through life. I am the father that took you to training and all those tournaments growing up and watched you get beat and come back the next week and get beat again but you never gave up, you just worked harder. I got a letter from my son who is now in the Armed Forces and he expressed to me that he know understands everything wrestling his whole life has taught him. He had people just like you do ridiculing him on this same board because of his actions at a couple tournaments. It was all just a learning curve for him and had to learn to control his emotions and focus on the next match. Wrestling teaches all of us life! Work hard this week, focus, forget last weekend and get that state title! We wish you the best of luck this weekend and in your future in college.
