  3. We are taking an IN elementary team to a Dual tournament in Michigan in December. We have most of the team filled with competitive wrestlers but we are still in need of a few. We possibly have the following spots open for wrestlers 6th grade and below: 40 60 80 106 112 119 125 or Heavyweight (max 180) These exact spots are not guaranteed as we have several wrestlers in the line up that we are still considering moving around to fill them. We are just looking for interested wrestlers at this time to determine what the options are so we can finalize the line-up. We would like to have the roster finalized by the end of next week. If you are interested, please contact me through messaging on this board or by phone at 317-850-4799.
  4. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to attend or help with this event. It is always much appreciated!
  5. If you register online, you have to pay at the same time to get the discount. We will have a separate line for participants that are pre-registered and paid so you can get right through in the morning.
  6. Save $5 by registering online at www.trackwrestling.com Sign up today! Walk in registration is also available as always. No admission charge for spectators. More info http://www.borderwarswrestling.com/userfiles/2009%20LC%20Bears%20Open.pdf
  7. twinwrestlers mom- that can happen in any middle school tournament. I have a 6th grader also and I am sure he will hit a few 8th grade 15 year olds this year. The point of this debate was that the MS dual tournament was different than other Middle School guidelines. Coach McCormick- changing the guideline does not affect me in any way since my son's team is not participating. However, as an unbiased observer, I would like to send you a big Kudos for considering the point of view of others and acting on it.
  8. Oh come on, Donny could totally pass for an 8th grader.
  9. So I was browsing flowrestling and ran across the Ohio Grade School Championship coverage. http://www.flowrestling.org/videos/coverage/view/234812-oac-grade-school-state-wrestling-championships It looks like the finalists get a singlet to wear for the final match, they have award presentations, and most of the finals matches are on flowrestling. What is missing in IN that keeps us from doing things like that? I also think they have sectionals, regionals, etc. Is it a lack of interest, money, volunteers? Just wondering what other people opinions were on this.
  10. Yes, you can register at the door. More info available here: http://web.me.com/markdurham/Red_Cobra_Wrestling/09_Red_Cobra_Camps.html
  11. Thanks to Hoosier Elite for hosting this tournament. From what I saw, it ran flawlessly. They made the best of the low numbers and made sure everyone got matches. We got 4 matches and a trophy.... good day. I hope everyone else supports this next year- it has potential to grow into a great tournament that will attract out of state wrestlers.
  12. We had a great time in Iowa. It was impressive to see 3 Indiana boys in the top 8 at Novice 80. 13. He dislocated his elbow in the semi-final match at Liberty Nationals and is in a cast for a few weeks. He was pretty bummed about missing out this past weekend. His little brother Dylan brought home a state title in his honor though

  18. Weight classes with 1-2 wrestlers will be moved up to the next bracket (but still receive awards for their original bracket). Also, divisions with 6 or less will be done as a round robin bracket.
  19. Registration closes on Thursday! www.trackwrestling.com
  20. Weigh-ins??? Do Local tournaments do those anymore? That is a whole other subject.
  21. Indy Nationals is having split sessions this year to help alleviate the time spent waiting for matches. PW through Intermediate in the morning and Novice up in the afternoon. It makes a long day for some of the coaches with kids in both sessions but it would be great to see more tournaments adapting this practice.
  22. No FNL live this week or next due to High School Semi-state and state. We will look forward to you coming over next time.
