  1. Good call Ahawkeye.....I didn't see anything either. Don't hold your breath for Friday's full page spread....ha ha
  2. Sweet idea............Attendence records would be broken. What would be a guess on an attendence amount for a MD&Reitz dual? I've been to some packed houses in the past. I was thinking maybe around 2000-2500 most of the time. Anyone else have an idea? I read on another post that Perry and Cathederal had only 500 tonight for their dual. That low of a number is kinda hard to believe.
  3. I'm sure Coach Schaefer and Coach Ferguson would like to know that starting weight class as well. We really haven't seen any "bumping around" the last few years. Reitz did for some injuries a couple or three ago, but it has been prety well each other lineups against each other. Yea sure would be nice to see some sports media coverage. But there's city swim and basketball being done also this week ....... ha ha ..... like it would really matter. Hit me up or text me with those "bump scenarios" tomorrow Jon H. I'll give you mine. I going to finish mine tonight. I'll be in Mount Vernon tomorrow morning early. 8)
  4. "Swing matches at 119, 130, 152, 171, 215, and 285. If Reitz can win the majority these they have a shot. " If Reitz wins a majority they will have more than a shot. I like the match up at 119 with Lannert and Moody. Moody is the State qualifier, I would have to give him the advantage. Don't let yourself think Jake isn't good, but Moody should be the favorite. I also like Dowdy at 130. I really believe he is one that is slipping under everyone's radar. I do believe you have listed the "swing matches" correctly as all being very close. :-\ There may even be a sure win match that turns into an upset for one of the teams. The last few years (maybe even 8-10 yrs) there has been some very competitive wrestling even if the score sometimes doesn't show. MD hasn't had a cake walk for the last few. It's time for the Reitz's team (all of them) to wrestle to their capabilities. MD and Reitz wrestlers generally leave everything out on the mats for this dual. It is an emotional dual and remember their only high school kids. They both should be proud to represent their schools for the westside fans. It really is one of the best dual night settings in the state. 8)
  5. I wish I had time for pre-match preparations but I am thinking mine will be to find a parking space 8) Let me hope my youngest wrestler will remember his shoes, not like in '08, when dad made a quick trip home to get his oldest son's wrestling shoes only to lose his parking space and make the long hike down Harmony Way from an illegal parking location. What we do for our kids. He's going to love me for this post. ;D
  6. How old are you then MatChick76 ? ;D ;D
  7. I was thinking there was a tie in '80 or '81 ??????
  8. What no love for the State's 5th placer last year at 103? Kuhn will beat all. Kuhn will win with the rest being decided on the brackets and seeds.
  9. Great showing Hounds! A big improvement from last years performance. Keep it up next week in Cinci.
  10. Great job Reitz. As Jon H will agree, it's hard being home and missing all the wrestling action and waiting for updates. This is great win for the Panthers. Congratulations again boys.
  11. It is great to hear the success of the IN wrestlers being spoken on the discussion board. It's fun to still see all the guys get to wrestle each other still out of high school. Many of them still contact each other and are some of each others biggest fans. Good Luck to all the IN wrestlers competing in college. It really shows that not all the best go to D1 schools and many can still be at the top when they attend D2 or D3 programs. Whichever fits the student athlete the best is where they should attend to get their education and still be able to compete and enjoy this sport.
  12. I personally wasn't there but understood Reitz substituted a few second stringers into the lineup during the Father Ryan match. I am guessing to get some mat time to all that attended. I don't know if would of been a difference but do know from what was told Reitz looked very good all day. Sounded like a good day of wrestling. Maybe some one can give more info.
  13. I am thinking you all forgot 112 Trinity 112 Fahay (Trinity)will win very easily over Kief
  14. I agree with all the posters about the problems. As a parent and a supporter of high school wrestling, it is almost unbearable to believe the organization skills of some of these coordinators. What is the deal? How many highschool football or basketball games do you see delayed? How many times do you see a team late for one of these two contest? Is it because more people care about FB and BB? This is a statwide problem from what I've seen and been told. It irks me to take off work or race to an event; only to see it already started or be delayed. Some one needs to tell the AD's , administrators, or whoever is in charge that not all people have bells or buzzers at their workplace to tell them when it is time to move to different classrooms or when its time to change their teaching detail. Do they not no how to schedule times because of this? This has become the norm for HS wrestling and I for one believe there needs to start being a change. How do we expect outside fans to become interested in this sport or even grandparents and family come support our kids if we can't have designated start times that are honored from the posted schedules. Some don't even post schedules anymore. People sometimes get agitated and upset when sitting for hours with no wrestling action to watch. Watch out coaches and AD's!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha
  15. Merry Christmas to all indeed! From boilergrappler to all your wrestling families have a safe and blessed season.
  16. Some injuries I believe and also understanding they are redshirting. I hope that can help. Maybe someone can give us an injury update.
  17. Our schedule shows 7:00. I am understanding there is going to be exhibition matches also. Many former IN high school wrestlers will be competing as stated by Trinedad. Should be a great night of wrestling.
  18. Wrong U of Indy host Trine tomorrow night in a dual is as close to that as being correct. Steve and Taylor are starting next semester @ Indy. They will be wrestling next year. I've got a pretty good source to squash any of those rumors. ;)
  19. Agree mtv2112, I read it the same. As I said earlier. comparing to the ole meat grinder phrase indeed. This agruably (everything is agruable) is one of the toughest duals for two days. There are many others that may have more talent on some years, but they normally are only on one day. Enough said, this will be again a meat grinder. Sorry to use that expression bluebolt before SIAC time. ha ha
  20. Is Trinity still coming? Will they bring their complete team? They will definitely bring some good matchups with them. Bradbury and Fahy to name a few from memory. A believe there still is a Hitchings there also. Always a two day meat grinder of duals.
  21. If I was a guessing man Reuger will win the match with Milton. Reuger is solid. Rankings don't mean squat this early in the year.
  22. Is that correct on how I'm reading that? Castle vs MD first round. Let's get it on early!
