  3. Congratulations to Coach Andy Hobbs for earning his 350th Career Dual meet victory this weekend! In just 19 seasons as a Head Coach, Coach Hobbs is officially the fastest wrestling coach to 350 victories in Indiana History. At 350 career wins, Coach Hobbs is now 13th all-time in dual meet victories in Indiana. Of the twelve coaches ahead of him, five of the coaches are retired and one will be finished at the end of the season. Victory number 350 could not have been more rewarding, as it was a 45-35 victory over conference rival Western. With this victory the Tiger also went 5-0 on the day to win the Western Super 8. Peru Wrestling is now 21-3 on the season and has not lost a dual meet in nearly a month and a half. In 18 seasons as Head Coach at Peru High School, Coach Hobbs has won 7 Conference Team Title, 10 Sectional Team Titles, 4 Team Regional Titles, and 4 Semi State Team runner- ups. During this time, he has compiled a winning percentage of 68% and has a winning percentage of 78% in the last 6 years. Quite possibly the most impressive, under Coach Hobbs, Peru has had 29 individual state qualifiers! This is the fourth most amongst any school in the state during these years. Once again, congratulation to Coach Hobbs, the Peru Wrestling Program , and Peru High School! 350 + DUAL VICTORIES ANDY HOBBS PERU AL HARTMAN SB CLAY TRENT MCCORMICK YORKTOWN ANDY SIMON CARMEL JIM TONTE PERRY MERIDIAN 400 + DUAL VICTORIES STEVE VANDERAA WINAMAC HENRY WILK PENN 450 + DUAL VICTORIES TOM MILLER LAFAYETTE JEFF 500 + DUAL VICTORIES MIKE GOEBEL EVANSVILLE MATER DEI BOB HASSEMAN FRANKLIN COMMUNITY BARRY HUMBLE NEW HAVEN PHIL THRASHER NEW ALBANY 800 + DUAL VICTORIES REX PECKINPAUGH NEW CASTLE

  21. Elite Level Recruiting Combine Relentless Pursuit Wrestling is hosting it's annual Columbus Day Recruiting Clinic on Oct. 6 & 7. The clinic will be at Oak Park and River Forest HS, just outside of Chicago. In attendance last year were 18 HS state champions, 42 All - staters, and 26 fargo AA's. This year's list looks very good, with wrestlers from 4 states committed thus far, including a very strong contingent from Indiana. 17 Colleges, including 8 Division 1 schools sent coaches to recruit. Last year, the clinic featured an outstanding staff, headed by Mike Powell. Coach Powell runs a room that is second to none. There are 18 spots left : We are looking for all-state or better level wrestlers who desire to wrestle at the highest levels. This clinic is very demanding and does a great job of preparing wrestlers for the big preseason tournaments. Wrestlers that attended last year did very well, with 2 Super 32 finalists (1 champ), 9 preseason nationals finalists (5 champs) and 2 Freakshow place winners. Cost: $80 Contact Chris McGrath at cmcagrath@csd99.org for more information. There is a hotel two block from the school: The Wright Inn 708 383 4800 (tell them you are with Relentless Pursuit Wrestling)
